Videogum PSA: Please Don't Take Your Shirt Off And Recite Poetry On YouTube

thumbnail icon: Videogum PSA: Please Don't Take Your Shirt Off And Recite Poetry On YouTube

A tipster sent this in yesterday. It's a shirtless man reciting a poem very passionately on YouTube. I feel like a dick for posting it, knowing that there have been plenty of times in my life where I've both written and recited poetry, though I consider myself fortunate to have done so to a mirror and not a video camera, and to have grown out of that phase by age seventeen. As you watch this, I want you to think about your own most earnest moments, and give thanks that you chose not to broadcast them to the world. Also he totally cries at 1:50:

Yeah, I'm a dick. But it's so creepy! Internet people: poetry is great and all, but please resist the urge to do this, it will not have the effect you're intending. I promise. That said, I've saved a copy of this to use as my new go-to birthday video e-card.

No no no no no no no.

Why would you do this to us, Lindsay? I couldn't make it through even half of it. It's too creepy.

It's creepy because he stares right into your soul. He sees your soul. And he wants to dance with it. Also when he said "I kissed" around 1:20, he totally starts to move in for one.

Dude's secret gay lover is definitely filming this while the two are on vacation from their real families

I am going to be 100% honest. I, like a great deal of other people, I can imagine got to "I kissed" and simultaneously shuddered, laughed, and cowered in fear as he hissed it.

Thanks for the nightmares.

I watched the whole thing squinting my eyes and making a face while curled up and pulling backwards slowly, much like one does when a foul odor is slowly creeping in on them. This was probably the most embarrassed I've ever been for someone. The highlights were really that this man was shirtless, making an awful kiss face, and made his camera friend shudder with delight? fear? I can't tell. I feel like I witnessed something I shouldn't have, like a creepy English professor's hostage video. Creepfest.
