New Mad Men Promo Makes Mad Men Look Thrilling And Fast-Paced

thumbnail icon: New Mad Men Promo Makes Mad Men Look Thrilling And Fast-Paced

Lest we forget that the third season of Mad Men begins this summer (supposedly August 16th), AMC has started running this new promo featuring prominent, salacious moments from Season 2. Even the biggest Mad Men fan has to admit the show moves glacially, so this promo, with its soap opera revelations piling up on each other like some sort of 1960's Nip/Tuck, is almost like an inside joke. (I love Mad Men, but that show is sloww). Spoilers abound, but only for Season 2:

...And yet, and yet: when Don Draper says "Move forward" at the end, I absolutely can't wait for Season 3 to start. (By the way, if you haven't seen Mad Men, this slow-TV part of the summer is a good chance to catch up on Netflix (Season 2 coming in July), before everyone starts talking about it again in August.)

yeah the basically just took a 5-6 things that happened in season 2 and put them in the promo. otherwise it could easily be confused as a cigarette ad, or a "truth" comercial if they used any of the other footage.

You know what happened fast during season two? When Duck up and decided to let his dog go. In the middle of New York City. At night. Where it surely met it's untimely death.

i HATED Duck for that... pissed me OFF.
but I rationalized it by thinking - if anyone saw a well groomed dog wandering around Madison Avenue, they'd SURELY take it in, right??? right????

i can't shed any more tears for Chauncey. the well has run dry.

I LOVE PETE and he was so under-used in S2. He's due for some spectacularly assholish moments Season 3.

There's never enough love for Ken Cosgrove, imo. and pretentious Paul Kinsey with his stupid little neck scarf and brandy snifter....

Let's get me out of this skirt!

Don't forget Harry! And the fabulous Sal.

But no, seriously, Harry is the best. His impression of Freddy was spot-on. And when he was all dressed up in that infant cap thing at the baby shower? Adorbs.

As long as they don't kill Sterling off I'll be happy. Favorite season 2 line: Joan walks in to find Roger loudly playing paddle-ball and points out that everyone can hear him outside, to which he responds "Good, nobody knows what I'm doing in here - it gives me mystique."

In my mindhead, Chauncey survived and will be getting a spin-off.
