Duh Aficionado Magazine: Holy Shit, America Is Fucking Racist

This is amazing. (Thanks for the tip, Matthew).

Racism isn't funny, but stupid old racists are. "Who says fried chicken and watermelon are racist stereotypes? Those are just foods. Just a selection of totally random foods that we selected from the clip-art file. Also, let me ask you this if you're so smart: spaghetti and meatballs? Did you ever think of that?" Incredible. Looks like Socrates escaped from Bill and Ted's phonebooth and took up residence in Inland Empire.

Not that the woman who sent the flyer around doesn't have an AIR TIGHT explanation.

From Press-Enterprise:

The group's president, Diane Fedele, said she plans to send an apology letter to her members and to apologize at the club's meeting next week. She said she simply wanted to deride a comment Obama made over the summer about how as an African-American he "doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills."

"It was strictly an attempt to point out the outrageousness of his statement. I really don't want to go into it any further," Fedele said in a telephone interview Tuesday. "I absolutely apologize to anyone who was offended. That clearly wasn't my attempt."

Fedele said she got the illustration in a number of chain e-mails and decided to reprint it for her members in the Trumpeter newsletter because she was offended that Obama would draw attention to his own race. She declined to say who sent her the e-mails with the illustration.

She said she doesn't think in racist terms, pointing out she once supported Republican Alan Keyes, an African-American who previously ran for president.

She's not racist because she once supported a black hate-filled homophobic nightmare. Besides, all of this could have just been avoided if Barack Obama hadn't made the offensive mistake of drawing attention to his own race USING HIS SKIN.

I would like Diane Fedele, her husband, her daughter & all the folks who agree with them to be shot.
Sorry, nothing funny to say, just saying what I wish would happen.

They remind me of the KKK guys on Reno 911
"We're burning a t, a t for tolerance!"

Was anyone else terrified that the woman was about to say they were drinking the wrong kool-aid?

I KNOW!
she clearly had to change that sentence around, or else that would have been an unfortunate coincidence

I eat ribs, I eat chicken. K? White people do that stuff too.
I also use the 'n' word frequently, all right? Since when do black people own Kool Aid and racial slurs?
I think you're the racists, yup.

i love dumb people's logic.
'my mom was married to a mexican so she can't be a racist.'
yeah she can, dumb lady. yeah, she can.
i like the other dumb lady's completely nonsensical mea culpa, too.
'whoops, my bad, for a totally false reason that makes no sense!'
it's so unfair that every racist creep and idiot with a curious george doll and pedophile's greepy grin, can vote, and have their votes count as much as mine does.

I read one explanation where the foods were on there because they were simply easily affordable foods, and thus poor people (AND WE'RE TOTALLY NOT TALKING ABOUT BLACK PEOPLE YOU GUYS) can only afford such things.

Except that, last time I checked, ribs were actually fairly pricy.

There is no question this is a racist message, but when questioned the people distributing this message hide behind not understanding their own message. My feeling is they are ashamed, and rightly so to be found out to be racist. Let it come out to the light of day, and deal with it.

My mother isn't racist because she married A MEXICAN. It's the indignation in the voice that did it for me, wowzers!

And Thomas Jefferson and all the other ahole slave owners weren't racists because they had sex with their female slaves and who knows maybe even their male slaves. Nothing has changed and it will only get worse.
