The 2009 Emmy Awards
Getty ImagesCongratulations, television, you did it! You celebrated yourself for three hours! To be fair, while the Emmys were mostly boring and very who-cares, they were not as boring and as who-cares as they might have been. Neil Patrick Harris did a pretty good job! John Hodgman was there, which was weird! And after a couple of early upsets (no offense to Kristin Chenoweth or John Cryer, but REALLY?) almost everyone who deserved to win the award did. So, good for them. Between that and the millions of dollars they get paid to play make-believe, things are going great.

Am i the only one who's a little annoyed that Alec Baldwin keeps winning Best Actor in a Comedy over Steve Carrell? Don't get me wrong, I love both shows equally, and Baldwin is great, but I feel like Michael Scott is a much more complex character to portray than Jack Donaghy. Also, Ricky Gervais and Tony Shaloub are great too, not to take away from their respective wins. And I'm certainly glad that Charlie Sheen continues to not win. I just think that Michael Scott needs another chance. Especially after managing to destroy Stanley's life last week.

OH NO, THE BREAKING BAD TROLLS! hmmm...what other great actors have only had one character to play... Does the name George Costanza mean anything to you? Because it means A LOT to Jason Alexander. And James Gandolfini has won so many Oscars after playing Tony Soprano. I did not know that the litmus test for being a great television actor is having so many characters. In fact, isn't it the other way around? The best actors play characters that people love and thereby keep watching which in turn keeps a show going for many, many years, thus limiting the number of characters said actor can play. If Jon Hamm is still playing Don Draper in 5 years, it probably means because his character is still interesting to people.
And I have watched the first season of Breaking Bad. YAWN. Sorry, I don't find meth labs interesting. I'm not a juggalo.
