At yesterday's premiere of Twilight: New Moon, there were plenty of full-grown adults who made signs expressing their love of the series and their refusal of psychotropic medication. But there were also CELEBRITIES! Neat! The stars were out on the red carpet to celebrate this Friday's release of the latest chapter in the tween sensation. Let's see who was there!

Oh. My. God. You. Guyz. Last night was the Twilight: New Moon premiere in Hollywood, California. Is anyone else's head falling off, or is it just me over here? HELP! MY HEAD! The only thing that I would like almost as much but not as much as going to prom with a mythological vampire who is in a surf battle with the magical werewolves over the entrance to my human vagina would be to stand for hours in a mass of strangers screaming in my ears and holding up homemade signs that read like cries for help. Just kidding! That sounds like a nightmare! I will stick with just dreaming about make-believe swamp thing prom, or whatever. But here are some of the people who don't think that is a nightmare, and who in fact think it is very fun and something that is worth doing even if you are an adult. We should all be so lucky as to find something in this world that makes us happy, even if it happens to be this thing!

Congratulations, television, you did it! You celebrated yourself for three hours! To be fair, while the Emmys were mostly boring and very who-cares, they were not as boring and as who-cares as they might have been. Neil Patrick Harris did a pretty good job! John Hodgman was there, which was weird! And after a couple of early upsets (no offense to Kristin Chenoweth or John Cryer, but REALLY?) almost everyone who deserved to win the award did. So, good for them. Between that and the millions of dollars they get paid to play make-believe, things are going great.
Check out this photo gallery of the highlights, and a full list of winners after the jump.

Kanye West, right you guys? Classic Kanye West. While the world will always remember the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards as the year in which the Jigsaw-headed man-baby went up on stage for no reason to trample a little girl's victory speech for an award that no longer has any meaning (if it ever did), the memory that I will always take away from the VMAs came earlier, during the pre-show. It was when VJ Tim Kash announced that he had one pair of free tickets to the VMAs that he was going to give to a lucky pair of superfans. Now, you can imagine the scene. New York City. Outside of Radio City Music Hall. Thousands of teenagers packed into writhing throngs of adrenaline and excitement, who have traveled with or without their parents' permission to be here without any tickets or way of getting inside. Just to be part of this! And Tim Kash casually picks out two people from the crowd. Both of whom are in their late-30s to early-60s. "Congratulations, you're going to the VMAs," he says to the two very-full-grown-adults, who treat the prize with the same amount of reserved excitement that adults have for, say, discovering asparagus at a reasonable price out of season. HUH? Sorry, kids, this show is not for you. WE TAKIN' OVER! Parents seriously just don't understand.
Anyway, check out our VMA photo gallery to relive all your most cherished memories that you've ever had.
P.S. That was fast.

"HELLOOOOOO?! Is it November yet? I am dying over here. Last night my mom was like "why are you crying?" and I was like "New Moon doesn't come out for weeks and GET OUT OF MY ROOM. Didn't you see the sign? It says NO PARENTS ALLOWED." She doesn't understand ANYTHING. I just found these new stills from the movie on-line and I thought they would make me excited but all they do is make me sad that IT IS STILL SO FAR AWAY. I'm pretty sure that God personally hates me and wants me to be unhappy for the rest of my life. Everything is unfair. Despite all my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage that I have to share with my sister."

This weekend marked the end of Comic-Con: 2009. Of course, amidst all the Lost spoilers, and Avatar screenings, and Tron teaser trailers, and Green Hornet car displayings were hundreds of adults dressed in costumes. On the one hand, I genuinely respect and appreciate that there is a place where people of shared pop cultural interest can come to spend a few days together in celebration of their favorite things, and making fun of "nerds" at Comic-Con feels like shooting fish in a barrel. But on the other hand: how else are you going to get the bullets into those fish?! Please enjoy this gallery of shot up fish.

WASSUP POGS!
Yo, as you probably heard on da grapevine, this week is Comi-Con, which is the world's greatest place for all of the coolest posters for movies that won't come out for three years. It's basically like the Juggalo's Gathering but for nerds awesome dudes, and super cool girls (who will one day be the first girl president probably) (and that's fresh!). Anyway, today is the second day of the convention (very niiiiice!). There's already been lots of bodacious activity, like James Cameron, who directed some movie called Titanic, which I think was a documentary about jewelry but whatevs, he has a new movie coming out called Avatar and he screened the first 25 minutes of it. Whoops, look at me boring you with all this Grandpa Talk (talking is a word old people use that means Human IM). I know what you really want. TWILIGHT NEWZ!
Check out our photo gallery of all the cool Twilight stuff at this year's Comi-Con. JIGGY WITH IT!

Last night's MTV Movie Awards were weird, because much of the two-hour paid advertisement for upcoming blockbusters (like the Sandra Bullock/Ryan Reynolds rom com The Proposal. JK.) was ACTUALLY FUNNY. (And we just knew KEYBOARD CAT was gonna show up.) I actually felt like I was watching it because I wanted to and not just out of some lame desire to keep abreast of what the kids are doing. But that said, it seems unlikely that the kids themselves -- the actual coveted youth demographic, had any idea what was going on. They were probably just like "Twilight! Kiss, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, kiss!" Here's video of the six funniest moments, (I can't believe there were six!), with more in the photo gallery.
