Britney Spears Is The Queen Of Parody (Britney Spears Is Not The Queen Of Parody)

Huh?

Looks like someone just graduated from the Ashanti School of Parody. From TrendHunter:

To connect with her gay audience, Britney Spears has released an ad for a fake perfume called, "Mo". The pop princess has been a gay icon for years and inspired drag queens all over the world.

Britney's satirical video ad was made for Logo network's NewNowNext TV awards, which celebrates gay culture.

It features her giving the tag line, "One spray and the gays will run your way."

This is a really great way to "connect" with a gay audience: to play off of cheap stereotypes for a completely unfunny subpar Mad TV sketch. I read somewhere that everyone in the gay community was pitching in 20 dollars to buy her a commemorative solid gold butt plug in appreciation*.

*You might think that a "commemorative solid gold butt plug" is a lazy and unfunny joke that plays off of dull, mildly insulting homosexual stereotypes. Correct. Get it? Like the video is lazy and unfunny and plays off of dull, mildly insulting homosexual stereotypes! It's called a homoage. (Sorry.)

That video didn't really make enough sense to be offensive.

I'd like to think that the footnote was entirely unnecessary for Videogum's audience of people with senses of humor.

I love how uncomfortable she looks. It's like she was told to hold up the bottle and read off a cue-card without having any idea as to what she was doing. And that's probably exactly what happened.

Gabe, as a genius, semi-professional TV watcher, you should know that Britney didn't release this parody. nor did she write it or conceive it. she barely acted in it. the Logo Network deserves all of the blame.

Saying the opposite thing in parentheses is so fresh and funny (Saying the opposite thing in parentheses is tired and unfunny).

How many fragrances does Britney have? Seven? Eight? Really? That was the take-away message of this video for me.

Her phony voice bugs the ever living crap out of me. I can't make it past 10 seconds of this video.
