Operation Watch This: Superjail

Superjail has been percolating in the Adult Swim ... percolator (Mondays!) for more than a year now. A pilot was shown in May of 2007, and then a year later, this past April, Cartoon Network aired a second episode. That is what we call in the business "a long time in between those two right guys?" The actual show should start airing regularly this fall. Here's a clip from the 2007 pilot episode, and I don't think you need any special knowledge about entertainment to know that this is nuts:

David Wain does the voice of the Warden, it's a circus jail built inside of a volcano island, and each 11 minute episode is packed with eleventy-billion murder jokes. Let's get excited about this one.

I gotta give them credit for out-and-out zaniness, but out of all the pilots Adult Swim aired during the "Night of 1000 Pilots," I liked "The Drinky Crow Show" the most.

I thought that the whole point of that night was so viewers could pick the new show, but I guess Adult Swim found some extra cash in the couch cushions and decided to green-light all of them. "Fat Guy Stuck in Internet" has been going on for the last two weeks, and "Drinky Crow" begins airing in early '09.
