The Fraggle Rock Movie Is In-Line Rollerskating To A Theater Near You
The Weinstein Company, which i known for its off-beat independent films and executive-level love of donuts, is moving deeper into family territory with its announcement of an upcoming Fraggle Rock movie. From Variety:
Pic will take the core characters Gogo, Wembley, Mokey, Boober and Red outside of their home in Fraggle Rock, where they interact with humans, which they think are aliens. The show premiered on HBO in 1983, ran five seasons and was broadcast in more than 80 countries. It posted strong sales recently when the first three seasons were released on DVD.
I hope they don't work too hard to appeal to a younger generation of viewers. Like, if the Fraggles have to enter the internet to stop a group of cyberterrorists from destroying the United States's mainframe, that will not be bodacious. Also, I think it goes without saying that this must remain the same.
