Salma Hayek Breastfed An African Baby On Nightline

I'm not sure why I'm putting this here, except that it doesn't seem to be anywhere else (Other than breastfeeding sites. We all read those, right?) On Nightline the other night while we were all watching Dave or whatever, Salma Hayek and Elizabeth McFadden went to Sierra Leone to raise awareness of children in poverty there, and when Salma found a hungry baby, she whipped out her breast and breastfed him on camera. I guess that's kind of a first for television? So here's that:

The ball is in your court, Angelina.

I thought this was going to be weird, but she really makes it seem okay, like it's nothing.

i'm an african baby. can i suckle your teet, salma?

well, i'm not so much AFRICAN, as African-American... never actually BEEN to African, but, you know...

and the whole baby thing... i do have a mother. and was BORN, you know, from a WOMB (like a baby!) 22 or so years ago.

Selma's breasts have been doing wonders for me for years, and i am glad to see an african baby enjoying them as much as i do.

What is the issue, the baby was hungry, she had the milk. This is what being a decent human being is all about.

This is beautiful--babies are meant to be breastfed! Wet nursing is so much better than artificial milk. Go Salma!

This is awesome. If more people were like this the world could be a better place. I am so proud of her and would like to think I would do the same if ever in that position!
