You Be The Blog: The Prisoner Did you guys watch The Prisoner last night? I don't have much to say about it, although I do kind of like how it was much darker than the original series. And Ian McKellen sure loves cake, huh? Loooves cake. What's your guys's favorite kind of prison cake?

The whimsical nature of the original is something I enjoyed most about it. I feel like Ian McKellen was wasted in a flat role in a overly dry show (they were in the desert!).

Chocolate chip ice cream cake is my favorite, but really I'll eat anything without coconut or shower rape in it.

Jesus and Gandalf on TV together and I missed it?!
All I can picture is Gandalf screaming YOU SHALL NOT PASS and Jesus hanging on a cross surrounded by penguin-pharisees...

Or Jesus and Magneto, if you prefer.

Except Magneto's real, Jesus and Gandalf are fictional characters.

If I were ever in prison I'd more look forward to some sort of pie. I'm not really a cake person.

Let anyone among you who is without sin be the first to eat cherry cake.

I noticed they dropped 'number' from in front of everyone's names to avoid any immature laughter surrounding 2. I mean, who wouldn't chuckle to hear the tour guide say: 'Wouldn't it be amazing if Number 2 came out right now?' Yes, yes it would.

I really liked the shot where everyone was wearing pig masks. (Why was everyone wearing pig masks?) The Brian Wilson at the end was nice too.

I didn't like the structure - why did they have to show him waking up in bed like 6 different times?

I tried to watch this lame show but was so irritated by the jump cuts, jerky editing and camera work that I had to give up after ten minutes or so.

I found myself strangely irritated by the shots of Number 6 waking up in bed. Long shot with left leg over the covers. Closer shot with left leg over covers. Close shot sitting up with right leg over covers. Consistency please! And they did it SO MANY times.
Also, where is the little person? More little person please.

I watched the first two 'sodes, they was straight.
But I was more enthralled by the Sunday Night Football Game.

Looks like Belichik was watching the Prisoner...

I like the casting of Lennie James as Number 147. England, feel free to keep racisting our movies; we will just reverse-racist your TV shows.

"Hey, you got your Dark City in my Matrix."

"You got your Matrix in my Dark City."

Together they are delicious? I never saw the original, but this show's end-game better be super fucking awesome, 'cause it is starting to look like some Dharma Initiative bullshit.
