It's Totally Okay That Edie Falco's New Show Sounds Exactly Like House

Edie Falco's pilot, Nurse Jackie, has been picked up by Showtime and will air in 2009. This is amazing news for those of us who've felt actual pangs of longing for Edie ever since The Sopranos went off the air. It's also good news for fans of House, M.D., because it sounds exactly like that. But who cares! Edie's coming back:

Edie Falco stars as the title character Jackie O'Hurley, a strong-willed and brilliant -- but very flawed -- emergency room nurse in a complicated New York City hospital. A lapsed Catholic with an occasional weakness for Vicodin and Adderall to get her through the days, Jackie keeps the hospital balanced with her own kind of justice.

I can't wait to see an Adderall-pumped Edie Falco use her own kind of justice. She could play a lapsed Catholic who reads the phone book and I would want her to be my older sister. Edie Falco for president.

I'm guessing she takes a lot of Adderall and Vicodin and then transfers organs from healthy bad people into sick children. That would totally happen on House.
