It's Still Okay That Edie Falco's New Show Looks Like House

thumbnail icon: It's Still Okay That Edie Falco's New Show Looks Like House

As jumped-up-and-down-about last summer, Edie Falco is coming back into our lives as a nurse at a Catholic hospital who snorts Adderall and Vicodin, has uncomfortable sex, saves people's lives, and feels guilty, and now there's a trailer/first look type video. Is the world ready for a female, non-sociopathic House, MD? I think I am. Edie Falco will make us believe Nurse Jackie:

Yay, Edie Falco! But ugh, Showtime, with the over-explaining the central conflict of the series ("Walking the line between saint [the word "Saint"] and sinner [the word "Sinner]." I think the little red balls are supposed to represent medicine that helps people, drugs that Nurse Jackie snorts into her nose (duh), and all the little balls she has to juggle in the air as an Adderall and sex addict with Catholic guilt. (And possibly also testicles.)

This looks acceptable. EF has good credit with me due to the Sopranos. Not to mention it's time we have a female doctor on TV who's not completely lame and uninteresting (see: Grey's Anatomy).

New Wave "Alice" type thing? ...it looks kind of tame, safe and very calculated...it wasn't long ago I was thinking what a great idea a new "Fantasy Island" would be,,,one week it could be very "Twilight Zone"/David Lynch and then the following week it could be all Jonathon Winters/Peanuts..."ER" is gone this year right? Let's make Fall 09 Thursdays THE night to watch smart TV. (Tina can't shoulder the load alone...)

Why does this not actually look like a real show?

could the people responsible for this show take themselves more seriously? jeez, they're so proud of themselves, you'd think that they came up with the cure for constipation

Isn't the line between saint and sinner called being an average person? Or is it that most of us are plain old sinners and only a special few get to walk the line?

It's fun if you squint and pretend that woman is Ellen Degeneres.

So, people have been asking me who the band is performing the song on the new "Nurse Jackie" promo and after some quality research, I dug them up. The band is called "TERRAPLANE SUN" and the song is called"Is There A Way." They are from Venice, Ca. and they are apparently amazing. There's your answer.
