The Problem Of Fake Rap Is International
Rap is an American cultural invention, but in its incredible popularity it has been co-opted and adopted by cultures around the world. Latin rap, of course, has taken on a life of its own and returned to America on its own terms, but there's all kinds of foreign rap, including French rap, and Italian rap, Chinese rap, and the absolute worst: German rap. Have you ever heard German rap? Yuck. Go to the doctor, your ears fell off.
It only follows, of course, that the world is now dealing with another, far more dangerous export: fake rap. Is no one safe from this shit? No one is safe from this shit. Israel, for example, is not safe from this shit:
Ah yes, fake rap: the best way to raise international awareness about endemic centuries old violence that continues in its escalation to push the entire world towards the brink of annihilation*. Y'HEARD!
Sorry, Israel, for our country's inability to meaningful and sustainably broker peace between you and the Arab nations of the middle east, but more importantly for giving you absolutely horrible ideas about parodic ways of easing that terrible tension. *Or raising awareness about/mocking the ridiculousness/virulence of a particular Israeli tendency towards trying to agitate international engagement in the Palestinian conflict? That is the problem with fake rap: besides being the worst, it often makes no sense.

this is from the israeli show "eretz nehedert" ("wonderful country" or "awesome land", which both sound weird in english), the israeli kind-of-equivalent of snl. not a bad show, really.
but it's even worse then you think: israeli rap has been used in israel's hasbara for quite some time. and i dont mean fake rap, i mean actual god awful real hebrew rap. the sketch from the show is based on this strange phenomenon.

I know I should feel embarrassed, but I did actually kinda like this sketch, fake rap and all. I mean, how would you feel if someone threw on you til HUH!? Those subtitles were really confusing though... So yay for understanding Hebrew?
