Lil Wayne's "Prom Queen" Video, Or: "Lil Wayne Has Made A Terrible Mistake"

Lil Wayne: I'm going to make a rock album.
Man 1: You're going to what?
Lil Wayne: A rock album. I'm going to make a rock album.
Man 1: What do you mean, you're going to make a rock album?
Lil Wayne: The next album that I make, the music that's on it is going to be rock music.
Man 2: HEY FUCKHE--
Man 1: What I think Brian is trying to say is that you're the greatest rapper alive! Before you release a rock album, maybe you should think about it some more. Make sure it's the right decision.
Lil Wayne: Why wouldn't it be the right decision?
Man 1: For one, the world already has one Lenny Kravitz, and he's terrible. No one likes him. But at least with the Lenny Kravitz we already have, he knows how to play guitar, and when he sings he doesn't sound like a dying muppet's last breath run through T-Pain's discarded vocoder.
Lil Wayne: Lollipop.
Man 1: I can tell you're serious. Well what is your rock album going to be about?

Lil Wayne: Um, duh, it's a rock album. It's going to be about white people stuff. Like prom.
Man 1: How do I put this Mr. Wayne...I'm not sure that the audience is ready for a Lil Wayne rock album.
Lil Wayne: I'll put glasses on.
Man 1: You'll put glasses on.
Lil Wayne: I'll put black horn-rimmed glasses on. Lollipop.
Man 1: Clearly there is no stopping you.
Lil Wayne: Look, it's like Gwyneth Paltrow always says: if people don't like it, it's because they don't get it.
Man 1: I definitely think people don't get it.
Lil Wayne: She also says that people just want to keep you in your box. They don't like it when you break out of your box.
Man 1: You really need to stop reading interviews with Gwyneth Paltrow.
Lil Wayne: She's the reason for all of this. Blame her.
Man 1: I do.

And scene.

I like how they had a stunt double to play guitar for him. Also, that was terrible.

The person who mixed this song needs to be in jail. Send him to jail, Gabe.

Hell hath no fury like Lil Wayne scorned - he got totally revenge-y with this video... I wonder who broke his Lil tattooed heart.

but the kidlets will love this shit... good thing the world is ending in 2012, because of the Mayans or whatever, because I couldn't deal if this was the true future of music.

Let me set forth a hypothesis .... Lil' Wayne will become the greatest rock star of our time. Let me explain. Remember Hot Boyz? Remember 500 Degrees and Tha Carter (I)? All that shit was terrible. Then somewhere amongst all the million mixtapes, Tha Carter II, the bazillion more mixtapes, and Tha Carter III, he's become amazing. So, let him make a few rock albums. He's clearly started in 1998 rock territory so maybe he'll move forward.

Prob not but w/e he's fucking gangsta and he doesn't ask questions, Miss Katie.

This is so, so terrible. This guy needs to be locked in a room with a mic and kept away from every musical decision involved in his music.

Quality of music aside, I admire the shift between genres. It is not often that one artist produces two very different types of records. I hope his current "street cred" will encourage people to look outside of genres. I know the rock and the hip-hop crowds tend to keep amongst themselves, so I welcome anything that contributes to the meshing or interaction of those two groups.

Why is it that no one has noticed that this is a horrible, dumbed down rip off of Failure's "Pitiful" on their record Fantastic Planet?!?!?!

OK...First...Wayne has already proven himself to be the mixtape god aswell as THE best rapper alive! Second, at the peak of his musical career, the dude switched genres...that takes balls. Third, he didnt just switch from rap to hip hop or r&b, he went rock...that an entirely different world from rap!
I bet most of you haters have no Idea Wayne had a damn near perfect GPA in school!
Asfar as it sounding like 90's rock....have you heard the garbage thats out right now?
Seether...CRAP, Nickleback....CRAP, Buckcherry...Hard rock for GAYS!!!!!
Not to mention Motley crue is still touring...they sucked in their prime!!!!!!!
Guns n Roses...they were a rock band that kicked some ass...and they toured with N.W.A. at one point. Anthrax and Public Enemy...Kick ass!!!
Korn...now there is a fucking rock band!!! They also happen to be the band for Prom Queen! They are not strangers to the rap game either, Korn covered Ice Cubes "Wicked" on their Life Is Peachy album, they then did a song called "Children Of The KoRn" with Cube on their Follow The Leader album, then a song called "Fuck Dying" on Cubes' War & Peace Vol.1 the War Disc, they did a song with Nas on the NFL Steet V.2 album and most recently Jonathan Davis covered Lil Waynes' "Got Money" track with Jim Root from Slipknot (another GREAT band).
I was glad to see the three remaining members of KoRn together in the Prom Queen video!
Great song, GREAT video!
