Kanye West's "Heartless" Video Suggests Someone Needs To Send Waking Life Back To Netflix

Kanye gets credit for continually trying to buck the aesthetically boring and usually misogynistic trends of hip hop videomaking. The Takashi Murakami video for "Good Morning" was basically a work of art, probably. I don't know how that works, I'm not an art scientist. But this one is like Picasso's...less...good...art...period...well, whichever period Picasso had in his career where everyone was like "Oh well, nice try, Picasso" and "Better luck next time, Picasso." Not that Kanye is Picasso. Art is hard!

My favorite thing about this video, though, is that once he decided to rotoscope the whole thing, he could have put himself in front of any background he wanted, and he still decided to use those ugly Jetsons paintings from his real life living room:

Between this, the "Love Lockdown" video featuring Kanye West's Sub Zero refrigerator, and the entirety of his blog, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Kanye West is into design and stuff. You heard it here first, guys. Drudge siren.

I feel like rotoscoping is the visual equivalent of the vocoder robot voice. In any case he's gone a bit overboard with both here.

On the topic of his blog, you should compile the top ten Kanye blog post titles.

I'm sorry, but if I walked in a guys house and he had those Jetsons pieces up & a chair with dolls under an Elroy............I'd marry him.

i kind of hate kanye for giving people license to use the term 'rap singer'... other than that, he's pretty ok.

considering that most music videos cant even hold my attention for the duration of the song, kanye makes extremely consistent videos. I always have to watch the whole thing. this one is good. good life is still my favorite though

Does Kanye actually smoke or is that just a Frank Sinatra "In the Wee Hours of the Night" kinda thing?
