Just What Obama Needs: A Weird Boy George Video

thumbnail icon: Just What Obama Needs: A Weird Boy George Video

Earlier in the summer, Boy George released a song "for" Obama called "Yes, We Can." Nobody really noticed, but now there's an official video for the song, which is so weird and animated and nonsensical. It's mostly Boy George Boy George Boy George, with cameos by David Bowie as Ziggy Stardust, Divine, a dancing Amy Winehouse, and I think the guy from the Insane Clown Posse? Basically, all the people you think of when you think of Barack Obama bringing change to America:

Amy Winehouse? Associated with Obama in any way? Is this secretly put out by the McCain campaign, because Boy George, you're not helping.

George isn't helping what? I prefer his fabulous and positive song to your negative and ungenerous comments. And the song is only partially about Obama -- if you had taken the trouble to learn more, you would have known it also touches on Amy and her troubles, and George's personal daemons, and the effort needed to overcome our own stupidities and change our lives. Yes we can! Hooray for Boy George -- as brilliant and fabulous as always!
