Feist Loves Counting, Counting To The Number Four

Feist will be guest-starring on the 39th season premiere of Sesame Street on August 11, and her performance of a tweaked-for-kids "1 2 3 4" is already online. Kids will no doubt recognize the hit song from ipod commercials:

Also stopping by the Street will be Will Arnett, Jessica Alba, David Beckham, Heidi Klum, Neil Patrick Harris, and Jack Black, and the show will have new parodies of 30 Rock, High School Musical, and Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader? No idea how they're going to make 30 Rock work for pre-schoolers, but I can't wait.

Maybe the 30 Rock episode will teach the kids about being gaybones.

Counting to four?
Isn't that a kind of weak aspiration to attempt to impart in today's youth?
Whatever happened to kids counting to a million
or kids hating things from Canada?

Feist, your voice may be grand, but this is the pits.

It's whacky and great that they do this. It follows the same spirit of what they did on Sesame Street when I was a kid, and helps gets parents engaged in their kids' teevee watching. Nice!

I kinda like this video more than the real, Apple approved one. Reminds me of the old school Sesame Street/Muppets stuff that was at least moderately culturally relevant.

Counting to 4's not so bad. Worked out for those rabbits in Watership Down...

That guest star list is fairly impressive. Is Sesame Street the new SNL? I might have to start Tivoing it.

I know living on Seseme Street is cleaner and more safe than it used to be but gentrification has killed the soul somehow. There's so many cops around I can't even find an "O" to buy.... Go to Youtube, type "Kermit visual thinking" and know Jim Henson has been sadly dead for years now.

that was adorable!
I think I enjoyed that as much as a kindergardener. not sure if that's a good thing...
but leslie feist has the smoothest voice. And she resembles Chan Marshall a bit in this.

i really loved that lol

I think its awesome!
I can't wait to see Will Arnett. Ben Stiller was a good one on there, dressed as a giant cheese! Hilarity.

i don't care what you people say, i think it's really cute and nice of her to make fun of her song that way, because i'm sure part of her accepting to do it IS because she's sick of singing that song so many times already...
all together now: 1, 2, 3, 4...
