Amanda Lorber Sings "Hallelujah"

If you're not following the life and career of former star of MTV's The Paper, now NYU student Amanda Lorber, well, that's okay because you're probably really busy. But if you're going to continue to pay attention to a former (and probably future) reality show contestant, she's the one (forget that Omarosa!). When we last checked up on Amanda, she was telling us her thoughts about Bill Maher's Religulous. Now, she's singing Leonard Cohen's (by way of the Jeff Buckley version, I think) classic "Hallelujah":

Since that song was everyone's favorite song when they were 18, Amanda appears to be maturing normally.

Lindsay- You're mission is to hightail it down to NYU, befriend Amanda and report back to me everything: How her day went, which of her professors are totally lame, what her theatre friends are doing this weekend. Then she'll find out you befriended her on false pretenses and reported back to me but we'll explain "It was because we care!".
LorberGum...GENIUS!

*resist urge as a voice teacher to correct dumb minutia*
Well....all I can say is that she's better than Katie Holmes on Eli Stone....but maybe she should stick to.
Not bad. She should get her own show. She's not as fail as most people on tv.

I'm amazed at the lack of shitstorm of correction on the original version. Cohen's was first, Buckley's was merely the best. Wait, people aren't total dicks here, my bad.

Alright, I'm going back to Stereogum now, I promise.

There's like a million teenage girls singing this song on Youtube at this very moment. This is not news/interesting. Sorry! I don't mind listening to this girl when she has something to say, but singing a cliche song is crossing the line of nobody cares.
