The Hangover Takes Hollywood To Movie Poster School

thumbnail icon: The Hangover Takes Hollywood To Movie Poster School

The Hangover comes out in a week and a half, and at this point there have been enough trailers that you're probably either on board or not on board. Although, apparently a lot of people are on board. When I went to see Terminator: Salvation last week (SPOILER ALERT: that movie is terrible!), a trailer for The Hangover played and the audience was seriously laughing like they'd never seen a movie before. Look, I'm on board. I think the movie is going to be TBS Very Funny, but these people were losing their mindz. It was like "wait, a movie can have jokes in it and make me laugh? This is incredibbbbble!" It was like someone trying coffee for the first time and suddenly realizing they should have been drinking so much coffee. Coffee is great. What? What were we talking about?

OK, the publicity for the movie is heading into its final gear, and a new round of posters have been released that follow the visual scheme of an earlier round of standard movie star posters featuring Zach Galifianakis and Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms. You know, movie posters. Typical. But this new round of posters is very unconventional! That is a tiger! You don't normally put a tiger on a movie poster! Why am I using my mildly sarcastic "voice"? I don't know, because I actually like this!

More goofball yuck-em-up posters for The Hangover after the jump!

That is a chicken! There is a chicken in this movie! I wonder if the chicken had its own trailer where it could smoke weed and play X-Box between takes. No I don't, but that chicken is about to be so famous!

That baby is wearing sunglasses! Like a man! This movie is going to be a classic. There are more posters with Mike Tyson and Ken Jeong here, but since neither of those people are tigers or a baby wearing sunglasses, I don't care. MY HEART IS ONLY SO BIG.

"wait, a movie can have jokes in it and make me laugh? This is incredibbbbble!", add the phrase "released in 2009" and this is, actually incredible.

I Love You, Man.

And to a lesser extent, Wolverine and Angels and Demons.

Part of me sees that the poster's gone through design hell with its perfect lighting schemes, but the kid in me wonders if that's just the other half of the poster parody taking place.

On a semi-related note, can we please discuss the other mind-bending movie Zach Galifianakis
is going to be in this year?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bVY_UspXyc

The cast also includes WIll Arnett and the voices of Nicolas Cage, Penelope Cruz, Sam Rockwell, Steve Buscemi, and....Tracy Morgan. The production is questionable at best with the combined forces of Disney-sans-Pixar and Jerry Bruckheimer, and the writing team's credits include such (not) greats as National Treasure, The Shaggy Dog remake, and Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. Canl Zach, Will, Tracy, and Steve (I know, odd one out, but I like Steve Buscemi's work) pull this one from the muck and mire?

For some reason I love the casting of this movie. It's about time more people knew about the dream team that is Bradley Cooper, Zack Galifinakis, and Ed Helms.

Why does the poster with the chicken have the caption of "Easy, Tiger!", and the tiger poster have the caption of "Where's Doug?" I think the graphic designers are huffing Musk.

Child abuse is not funny. The Alan fellow taken the babys arm and mimmicing masterbation was over the top and criminal in my opinion!
