These Creepy Faceless People Are All Over England And It's Scary

England is all abuzz about this "faceless" mask-wearing couple who've been photographed at publicity events around London, including Elton John's white ball, a Harrods department store event, and, today, Wimbledon. They're actually really creepy! Theories abound that they're members of the Scientology-baiting group called Anonymous, or that they're celebrities who don't want to be photographed (what's with the badges, then?), but the best hypothesis so far seems to be marketing for a movie or TV show. A list of movies coming out soon in the UK shows no obvious suspects (The Strangers, which could make a little sense, doesn't open there until August 29.) Maybe Dr. Who, the series finale of which is is a huge deal over there right now? Somebody needs to recognize these people soon, it's scary.

For any X-Files fans out there....these are a definite rip-off of the alien guys from the storyline regarding alex krycek and black oil. God, i should get out of the house more often. Could be a clever FOX marketing ploy for the new film.....

you might be right but the aliens from x-files had their eyes and mouths sewn shut.

This is a marketing ploy for Lotus cars. I think that they are coming out with new cars for the general public. I still don't know what faceless people have to do with it. The appearances only in Europe makes sense though.

1. Dianetics
2. Marketing for something lame
3. A way for celebrities to get away from paparazzi
-Some of the people actually look familiar. could have sworn one of the faceless looked like Russel Crowe
4. Some environmentalist stunt
5. Some anti-American or anti-Bush Admin stunt
6. Cult other than Dianetics

It's for Lotus cars. Adland (all about advertising) confirms this and point out that it's for the "Project Eagle" car - even finding it in the source code at facelesspeople.com
