Purnell's Old Folks Sausage: "It's Goooooooood"

thumbnail icon: Purnell's Old Folks Sausage: "It's Goooooooood"

You know how cooking shows and commercials have special chef/artists on staff who do all kinds of stuff to the food so it'll look good photographed, because in real life all food basically looks disgusting unless it's sitting there about to be eaten by you? This kind of adorably terrible commercial is why those people get paid so well:

This would be fine for, like, a blender commercial, but it's SAUSAGE. And the point of this commercial is basically: "Cook it first." The "out standing in its field" joke was cute, though. (Thanks for the tip, Amanda!)

I wouldn't eat sausage made out of old folks. But that's just me.

If this commercial is to be trusted, truth in advertising leaves me curiously hungry for breakfast sausages.

I think it would look better if they just showed it cooking or something. I mean, Who cooks 15 sausages and puts them on a bed of lettuce with apple slices? (Besides your boyfriend, Lindsay)

Personally, I like my processed meat products to be made from young folks, but old folks do have a lovely Geritol and Bengay flavor to them.
