The World's Funniest Regional Car Insurance Commercials

thumbnail icon: The World's Funniest Regional Car Insurance Commercials

If you ever find yourself with a DUI or too many tickets in the Pacific Northwest, consider Vern Fonk Insurance, which serves the hard-to-insure population in Washington and Oregon. Their crazy ads, which spoof everything from Napoleon Dynamite to The Sopranos to Love Affair, and at least one of which stars "Osama bin Laden," urge viewers to "Honk For Fonk" when they drive by a branch. These people are having way too much fun making insurance commercials.

Fonk To The Future:

Too soon:

I have no idea:

The commercials are so popular that the local morning show Good Day Oregon even made their own spoof, which is the most convincing evidence that these commercials are actually airing on TV and not an internet joke.

No, these things are very real. Very late at night on a couple of weak local Seattle area stations you can pick these up. Their offices are just south of Tacoma, you can see it from the Interstate.

I've seen these commercials for years. They're so bad they're good.

Yeah. They're super real. The worst of them all was one where these two people were at a restaurant and the bald guy had a massive zit on his face and the other guy popped it and they showed the popper and he had lotion or toothpaste or something to look like zit pus. Sick.

They have even found their way up into Vancouver here in Canada. So even though we can't use be insured, we can sure be entertained.

I'm from Seattle, and I see these every night. They are indeed very, very real. I honk absolutely every time I pass a Verne Fonk location, because they fucking rule. Awesome post.
