Will No One Make Jay Leno A Ridiculous YouTube Fan Montage?

thumbnail icon: Will No One Make Jay Leno A Ridiculous YouTube Fan Montage?

Tonight is Jay Leno's final show as host of The Tonight Show. Sure, he's going to be right back at it this fall with his new nightly 10PM comedy show, because some people don't know when to quit. But this is nevertheless an important turning point in his career. He's been the host of America's premiere late night talk show for almost 17 years. And yet, despite his role as King of the Ratings and his well-worn place in millions of American homes, as Gawker pointed out earlier this morning, there is less fanfare surrounding his departure than you might expect. Conan, another popular late night presence who said "goodbye" earlier this year despite the fact that he was simply moving his entire operation to Los Angeles to take over for Jay, was treated like Princess Diana. Basically. Perhaps people just have late night changing of the guard fatigue.

Nevertheless, one thing that you should be able to count on is a ridiculous YouTube fan montage of Jay Leno photos set to wistful, perhaps cheeseball music. Everyone's got one of these. Dakota Fanning's got one. Dax Shepard's got one. Poor Jay Leno! Doesn't have one!

UNTIL NOW.

Admittedly, I'm way too lazy to actually pull together a collection of Jay Leno photographs. So I just used a Frankie Muniz fan montage. About him dying? Perfect.

Goodbye Jay Leno.

Wait, why is there a fan montage commemorating the death of Frankie Muniz if he's not dead? What am I missing here?

Did anybody see Prince on Leno last night? Not only is that the final straw in terms of defending Prince, but he went over to an easel and scribbled out a message for Jay - something about how Paul Schaffer knows he's the best late night host.

Good lord Prince, just make music and play your hits.

Jay Leno made me vomit once. Seriously. I had a stomach bug and I turned on the TV and Leno was on, and then I felt worse and ran to the bathroom to vomit.
His jokes suck.

Gabe, I think its a crime there hasn't been a Jay Leno "You Can Make It Up" about this whole thing yet.

I cant imagine ever having this much spare time on my hands. I wonder who actually died in that tragic car accident.

Sad face.

I really don't think there is a montage I would not watch as long as this song was playing. Now I'm going to go challenge myself to think of one. Nothing has come up so far, though.

It's also sad that at Jay Leno's "last show" with the Tonight Show, when Conan was a guest, the audience seemed to give Conan a better response and a fan even yelled "CONAN RULES."
