Seeing The World Through Nerd Colored Glasses

When you or I look at the world, we see it the way that it is. Our reactions, or our interpretations, may vary by degrees but for the most part we absorb and process the natural world as it is presented to our senses. Not so for nerds. They see the world differently. Take, for example, the new set for the Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. When you or I look at it, we see this:

When nerds look at it, they see this:

Haha. Where do they get such wonderful free time? (That is a Batman reference, in case you are not a nerd and you missed it.)

So is it really from a videogame or did they just create a videogame to match the background?

That is great. Also loved the return of In The Year (3000) last night:

Andy was overjoyed to sit on the couch. He practically ran over to join Conan. Practically.

I'll never be able to see that set differently again. My childhood immortalized in a late-night show backdrop.

If u don't like how Conan's backdrop looks as it is then don't look at it!, If the backdrop makes you think of mario, then just ignore it's existence. The fact that u have the time in your pathetic life to write a blog about such a mundane matter is alien to me! Conan's backdrop is conans backdrop just how it is. If you don't like it, FUCK OFF

Or maybe I spend too much time reading these comments -- The Original from julie the truth giver:

"If u don't like how Russells fans tweet him fawning ovr him then don't read the tweets, If Russell annoys you, then just ignore his existence. The fact that u have the time in your pathetic life to write a blog about such a mundane matter is alien to me! Russells Russell just how he is. If you don't like it, FUCK OFF

So am i right in saying that the first person was an idiot, and that you just paraphrased their comment as a joke? Because if so, my apologies. I should have known better than to question the legitimacy of a registered user.

I might get arrowed-down for this, but I think you guys should give Fallon a chance. AD Miles is his head writer and shows up every once in a while (do yourself a favor and watch 7th Floor West on the show's NBC page) and The Roots bring down the house constantly. Plus he has awesome guests. Just give it a chance.

To be honest, I moderately enjoy everything on Fallon's show minus the interviews. They're just too painful to sit through. Maybe he'll get better over time, but until then I'm out of there after the first half hour. Unless there's a good musical guest - then I'm fuckin in again come 1:30a.

Yeah, sure, but his guests have been A-list so far so they can carry the interview (did you catch Will Forte the other night? Brilliant).

Maybe, but if that's the case then what use is Jimmy? You might as well have the guest up there directly addressing the camera.

I need a little give and take/spontaneity.

Being something of an aesthetic jerkoff, I was pretty impressed by that backdrop thing when I first saw it. Now I'm all confused.

Maybe, but the real nerds? They've already "debunked" this story, asserting that the second graphic is a shoop and no actual levels were copied for the Conan set.

I don't think anyone was pretending that it wasn't shopped (like it was from an actual level or anything), they were just pointing out how close the shapes were.
