Jon Stewart Said What We Were All Thinking Yesterday

thumbnail icon: Jon Stewart Said What We Were All Thinking Yesterday

From Dick Cheney's wheelchair reminding us of Dr. Strangelove and Star Wars, to Rick Warren's soon-to-be-a-catchphrase pronunciation of "SASHA!", to explaining to yourself why it's okay this one time to make fun of someone because they're in a wheelchair, Jon Stewart's inauguration highlights summed up what all of us were thinking, in a way that was first unsettling, and then comforting. SASHA!:

Be sure to watch the Cheney moment that starts at 3:43. Zoink! (Samantha Bee and Wyatt Cenac were awesome last night as well with their reports on the new maturity ("while you were working the balls you were struck with something?") and cool people, respectively.) I'm just sad that it will be four more years before I can tell people who asked what I did last night: "I watched balls."

I was at BAM watching in a crowd and when Warren said the girl's names everybody started laughing. Was he trying to make them sound...ethnic? Also any time Bush appeared on screen or someone got excited about being on the jumbotron hilarity ensued. Mostly tears of joy though.

I didn't watch the whole episode so maybe I missed it but I wish they had done something with the whole "sea of humanity" thing, that seemed to be the catchphrase at least over a FoxNews and it was supremely annoying and strange

I'm amazed that there wasn't one reference to Mr. Potter from It's a Wonderful Life

Conan made a Mr. Potter reference on his show last night. He claimed he was going to show footage of Cheney in his wheelchair, and cut to a clip of "It's a Wonderful Life" with Mr. Potter angrily wheeling around his office.

When Rick Warren said Malia and Sasha's names, he sounded like Will Ferrell-as-Dubya trying to pronounce the names of foreign leaders.

Hodgman Tweeted something about how Cheney was missing a white cat during the Inauguration. http://twitter.com/hodgman/status/1133433440
