Craig Ferguson Opens His Show With Awesome "Oops, I Did It Again" Lipdub

Craig Ferguson is famous for his clever, experimental cold opens, but last night's was the best one ever: Craig Ferguson presents his own "Oops, I Did It Again" lip dub. With surprises!:

I can't believe that aired on network TV. The ball is now in every other late night host's court to do something original with the beginning (or, HECK, the middle) of their shows.

I wasn't feeling it until the title came up at the end, and now I concur. Ridiculously amazing for a cold open. CONTEXT = HILARITY!

Nice, mostly cause more late night shows should start like preteen girls' youtube video.

But "Craig Ferguson is famous for his clever, experimental cold opens" is a stretch. Famous in Videogumworldgum, but then so is Hugh Jackman's peepants. Also Da Cake Eatur is mayor of Videogumworldgum. It's a pretty cool place.

Sorry. Just not seeing (getting?) it. The Spearhead tune with the puppets was modestly cute. But this. Meh of the same.

In one way, Ferguson's not trying hard enough in the fact that he always uses puppets and goes for cute-funny more often than not. (Which is why I tend not to watch him.)

But the kid in me thinks that this definitely was stupidly hilarious.

Off topic: There are too many (mostly good) Conan promos, but I think his simple running on the beach to "Eye of the Tiger" is tops.

dude

Um, that was pretty lame. Puppets? Is he trying to give Jeff Dunham a run for his (obscene amount of) money?

These openings are the best. I did find it a little distracting that the puppets still had their gangster clothes from the last opening. They should have put silver fabric or something of the sort to reflect back-up dancers.

I like how you can tell that he really does have in inclination to do the finger-pointing thing when he dances.

She-Ra, P.O.P.

"I can't believe that aired on network TV."
Well, no one was watching, so it's probably ok.

Why would that not air on network television at 12:30am? Don't get this at all. I'm so TeamPurple it isn't funny.

YES! Represent for Craig! He's been consistantly hilarious and original (compared to other late night hosts) for about five years now. His monologues are basically short stand-up routines on topical subjects as opposed to the hacky set-up/stupid punchline monologues of other hosts. His skits and interviews are goofy, funny, and really never awkward. Watching Jay, Letterman, and even Conan, it seems to me more than half of their stuff bombs with the audience, but you never get that feeling from Craig.
So ends my promotion of Craig Ferguson. I have nothing clever to say. Just watch him instead of Jimmy Fallon/Kimmel. Please.

Agreed. I'd like to add that Conan is fantastic at skits and Letterman turns into a badass when he has a shitty guest (or when he's bored (blowjob jokes at Jennifer Gardner (she had a skinned knee) and acting like a dick when Regis Philbin was there dressed as Shrek).

Parentheses Man away!

Thank you, Lindsay, for taking my advice at Christmas and talking a bit about Craig Ferguson. He really is the best. You know who hates Craig Ferguson? Al Qaeda.
