Adam Sandler's Rabbit Hole Is Three Inches Deep
Adam Sandler appeared on David Letterman Monday night to promote his new movie You Don't Mess with the Zohan. I didn't watch the interview because why would I have? It's true that I've found myself laughing at the occasional Sandler movie, I'm not ashamed to admit that (I am a little ashamed to admit that), but I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry was a hate crime not just against homosexuals but also against heterosexuals who don't have brain damage. And as far as Zohan is concerned, No, David Blaine.
But when I stumbled upon a photo on Golden Fiddler's tumblr (and again on Digg) of Sandler holding up his hand with cryptic scrawling on the palm, I was intrigued.

What is this? Could it be some kind of Dark Knight-style viral marketing universe? If I log on to 3-toilet.net and enter the password, will I get a phonecall from an Israeli special forces operative telling me to pick up a briefcase in a local hair salon in which I'll find a pair of cut-off denim shorts? In the pocket of the cut-off denim shorts will I find a piece of paper with an address and the name "Hillel" on it? If I follow that address will it take me to a Bumble and Bumble training center where I will tell them that my name is Hillel and they will take me to a chair where someone will pretend to cut my hair but actually slip another piece of paper with another address into my hand? Will this address lead me to a busy plaza where at an agreed upon time, everyone will exit through the northwest doors, where we will find a line of buses painted in the colors of the Israeli flag? If I get on one of those buses, will someone cover my head with a black hood so that I do not know where we are being taken? When the black hood is removed, will I find myself on an airport tarmac waiting to board an El-Al flight? When I board the El-Al flight will I be flown to Israel for a special You Don't Mess with the Zohan screening party?
Nope, it's just stupid notes so stupid Sandler can remember what to stupid say.
You really had me going their Fiddlr. Luckily for you the interview, which I had to watch for RESEARCH, to solve the MYSTERY, was actually kind of funny. I'm not ashamed to admit that I found the interview funny (I am a little ashamed to admit that I found the interview funny.)

The arrival of a new Adam Sandler film sparks hope in me, that I will wake up ten years ago, roll out of bed and get high. God damn 9/11.
Score = 0
Adam Sandler is classic, though he tends to do his best work when he stays casual, not trying too hard to be funny or deep, etc.
