Sometimes Bill Maher Stops Being The Worst For 10 Minutes

thumbnail icon: Sometimes Bill Maher Stops Being The Worst For 10 Minutes

Bill Maher is basically the worst. He's self-satisfied and condescending and a bully. He's basically the left wing Bill O'Reilly. Yes, Bill O'Reilly is more the worst than Bill Maher, but they are both varying degrees of the worst. But actually, they both share something else in common: they're both not the worst when they are being interviewed by someone else. There, I said it. I actually enjoy listening to people interview Bill O'Reilly, and sometimes even find myself agreeing with him. There's something about these two guys when they're on their home turf that makes them completely insufferable, but obviously they would not be where they are today if they weren't somewhat intelligent with a refined ability to craft articulate opinions. Don't get me wrong, I still think that Bill O'Reilly is a beef-faced nightmare who needs to be sunk to the bottom of Whoops Ocean. I just want to be really clear on where we stand in regards to Bill O'Reilly and his relationship to Whoops Ocean, which is that despite his general decency in interviews, he should be at the bottom of it.

Bill Maher was on the The View this morning to talk about his new movie Religulous, which looks like a self-satisfied, condescending movie made by a bully. And OK, actually, he's kind of self-satisfied and condescending in this interview. And a bully. OK, FORGET IT. But what can I say, I like him in interviews. Sue me.

(via Scandalist)

Sorry about the poor quality of the video. I've already sent a letter of complaint to the CEO of YouTube so that will probably solve it. I've also sent a letter to the CEO of Whoops Ocean and he said that not only is there room for Bill O'Reilly AND Bill Maher, but we can actually put Sherri Shepherd and Elisabeth Hasselbeck down there, too. So, you know, YAY!

I'm generally a pretty laid-back person, but this clip I think literally raised my heart rate. I understand what The View show is and what it's all about, but J.F.Christ, Sherri.

I used to could hate-watch The View when I was home in the mornings, haven't lately. I see where you're coming from with Bill, I'll definitely watch his movie, though.

I was always curious about that Ben Stein pro-Creationism movie he made. I heard it was a total piece of shit, which surprised me (even though I'm not pro-Cre) since I've always been a fan of his and he's known to be quite smart.

"I do think it's important to question religion, because, why go blindly into something? But I also think faith is important."

I WANT TO KNOCK HER TEETH OUT WITH A BRICK!!

Ya know, he wasn't as sharp as I thought he would be when rebuking those two dummies on his left.

I really enjoy seeing clips on him and tend to like his comments, but he is habitually condescending. Then again, if you believe your view is rational and lucid while your opponents view is religious + ridiculous, it's hard to stow that sense of superiority.

The more clips of The View I see, the more I like Whoopi.

I don't know how Sherri doesn't get called on her shit by everyone who comes on the show, frankly. This was secretly the meanest remark he made that they didn't even react to, weirdly: http://tinyurl.com/4pfw58

I just saw Maher interview about this on The Daily Show and he fucking KILLED it. I guess it helped not having to deal with a gang of nitwits.

The poor guy is basically saying "I think the idea of God is silly and if you believe in God you are dumb," and the fatty asks "Have you ever tried talking to God?". What the..? The obvious answer is NO, followed by a swift kick to the vagina.

since maher is basically right about most things he can be as self-satisfied as he wants. hes not a bully, he just has no tolerance for stupidity. hes not a liberal either. the only time i can stand larry king is when maher is the guest. its like a breath of fresh air amongst all the brain atrophying shitstorms.
