Amy Sedaris Dances For David Letterman

thumbnail icon: Amy Sedaris Dances For David Letterman

Every appearance by Amy Sedaris on The Late Show With David Letterman is its own miniature work of art, and each one unveils a new layer of this totally original character Amy's created for herself. Like last night, when Amy was on to promote Dance Flick. (Amy can star in whatever shitty movie she wants as long as she promotes it on Letterman.) This time Amy revealed that, since Dave recently got married ("for tax reasons?"), she too now has a husband named Glen who's in the merchant marines, is on disability, has a boat, and has no enamel on his teeth. And then she does a little dance for Dave.

Part 1: Amy tells Dave about Glen:

Part 2: "What happens in the treehouse stays in the treehouse":

"Would I be frightened (to meet Glen)?" "No, you're used to diseases." I'll draw the line at actually seeing Dance Flick, but Amy Sedaris is (still) a genius.

I genuinely feel like I just watched an episode of the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.

Wish I could dance like that.

The best part is how she doesn't even bring a clip for Dance Flick, because obviously no one needs to see a clip of Dance Flick to know that it sucks. And it would cut into the precious minutes of crazed banter between her and Dave! Late night TV is only good when Amy Sedaris is on it.

try this: pretend that David and Amy were fucking. Just Saying! And then, David and Amy seperate and both get married. and neither of them invite each other to the marriage. and then they have to deal with their issues. call me crazu

Dave is so totally in love with her. I remember one of the times Colbert was on, Dave just hijacked the conversation and asked Stephen about Amy for like half the interview. It was so junior high.

"I gotta rate them, Dave!"

Is there a standing Videogum Amy Sedaris Promise? If not, I say make it official already.

I think they considered Amy for Craig Ferguson's job on CBS, this was of course before he got the show, and wrought terror on late night. I think its is without a shadow of a doubt time to reconsider. PLEASE CBS!
