David Cross Makes This Week's 18 Millionth Jason Bateman Interview Interesting

thumbnail icon: David Cross Makes This Week's 18 Millionth Jason Bateman Interview Interesting

Last night's #1 segment on Countdown With Keith Olbermann was an interview with Jason Bateman that started out about how Hancock is making him "a star at last," but then took a turn for the not-boring exactly halfway through when Bateman's Arrested Development co-star David Cross stopped by. After some gay marriage announcement jokes, Cross and Bateman fuel speculation about a potential Arrested Development movie that someone needs to seriously confirm or deny already. (Despite reports, they don't really confirm it here.) It's kind of odd to watch a Will Smith-obsessed Olbermann, a junket-weary Bateman and a who-gives-a-fuck Cross bounce jokes off each other:

Man, it's great to see David Cross again, even if Olbermann didn't seem to get his funny off-the-cuff Will Smith story. Jason Bateman is great and all, but more David Cross, please, TV set.

I couldn't tell if Olbermann was trying to be funny or not by talking about Will Smith the whole time! Sadly, I don't think he was. It was weird...

It sounded like it was some kind of inside joke between them ala how reporters ask them dumb questions on those endless junkets they go on. They're apparently friends+it was too loopy to of been for reals.

I love Jason Bateman. But I want to know why, post-Arrested Development, he's getting all of these great roles and David Cross is relegated to fucking Alvin And The Chipmunks and Kung-Fu Panda.

When the Arrested Development movie is finally confirmed (everyone knows it's happening, but you know, when it's official) I will pee with excitement.

I don't know if you've seen this but it seems like official confirmation of an arrested development movie by Bateman himself. (http://defamer.com/5019005/what-a-fun-sexy-time-for-us-jason-bateman-confirms-arrested-development-movie-to-shoot-next-year)
I really hope it's true, because I dunno, up to this point it seems most of the AD cast have acted in kinda lame movies despite being in such an awesome show. Except maybe Michael Cera, dude got cast as Scott Pilgrim!
