People Are Drinking Ipecac On Purpose And Putting The Video On YouTube

thumbnail icon: People Are Drinking Ipecac On Purpose And Putting The Video On YouTube

I'm not even linking to this, because I couldn't watch any of them, but today during my daily random YouTube explorations I learned that there's this whole entire YouTube trend of people (usually teens) drinking the expectorant Syrup Of Ipecac on purpose and having their friends film them throwing up. I'm just reporting, here. It's probably based on a scene from an old episode of Family Guy. (That link is safe, as long as you think Family Guy is safe.) Anyway, gross! Expect to see this covered on Nightline soon. You heard about it, but didn't go search for it because really it's gross and don't, here first!

Slightly related, Me, but what do we call Teens now? Both "teens" and "teenagers" makes one sound or feel old.

I apologize for the stupidity of others in my age range. I promise we're not all like that.

Why can't kids watch better TV shows? I'd rather they imitated GOB Bluth's botched magic tricks or Neil Patrick Harris's superb acting as a straight lothario. Now I know that today's youth are hopeless because they can't stop watch a show that can't stop being unfunny.

I actually remember watching this episode. I wondered if it was a reference to something (a safe bet), so I looked online. The ipecac phenomenon actually preceded Family Guy by quite a bit, they were just referencing it on the show. Youtube is behind the wheel on the decline of western civilization, Family Guy is just an sometimes annoying passenger. Still better than recent South Park, though. One message, one joke, and thirty minutes to kill.
