Baz Luhrmann Hates Australia

Baz Luhrmann directed an advertisement for Australian tourism (via Defamer) and whoops, Australia, this is your new tourism ad:

"Australia, only go there if you're so fucking miserable that your life is about to fall apart."
"Australia, we have enslaved the indigenous population and send them through the night to troubled white people in need of vacations around the world with pouches of magical dream dirt and no shoes."
"Australia, you better fuck your husband here or he's going to leave you."
"Australia, God's Wellbutrin."
"Australia, seriously, about the indigenous population. It's horrible what we've done. Come here!"

Wow....I think I find Delaware's state tourism video's more effective than that. They have Go-karts.

Isn't Walkabout the movie where the kids are left alone in the Outback to die?

As a young blacktress who is en route to Australia on a one-year Working Holiday visa, I'd have to agree with slogans 1 and 4. Thank you for this, Gabe.

The Videogum Movie Club: 2012

Uh. OK. Well, first let's address what this movie did well, like the disappointed parents we are (or at least that I am), recognizing that the negative feedback won't be useful or constructive if it isn't preceded by something positive....
