In this morning's Entertainment News, both Matthew Perry (The Whole 10 Yards, Serving Sara) and the comedy team Thomas Lennon and Ben Garant have secured pilots for new TV shows. It's a feud! I mean, it's not a feud, but we can pretend it's a feud. PUNCH HIM! KILL HIM! So, here is Perry's new project, from the Hollywood Reporter:
Perry, who turned 40 in August, conceived the comedy, in which he will play a self-involved manager of a second-rate sports arena who begins to re-evaluate his life on his 40th birthday.
And here is the new project from Lennon and Garant, also from the Hollywood Reporter:

Speaking Of Michael Cera, Is Jesse Eisenberg Better Than Him? Carrie writes in: "I don't know if you watched Conan last night but Jesse Eisenberg was such a good interviewee. You should do a post on that segment because I think Vgummers want more opportunities to talk about who is better: Michael Cera or Jesse Eisenberg (Jesse Eisenberg is better)." ORLY? Watch Eisenberg here. Debate Carrie in the comments.

A lot has happened in the last two days (NOTHING has happened in the last two days*) since Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. He posted an apology on his blog (PUNCH THE KEYS, YOU THE MAN NOW DAWG). Deciding that an ALL CAPS blogpology written by an assistant would not be sufficient, he then went on Jay Leno last night and apologized again, to Taylor, to his fans, and to his mother's ghost. Obama has now called Kanye a "jackass" and he's probably going to have to issue his own apology.
But where is Taylor Swift's apology?
Obviously, Kanye West was wrong about a lot of things in this situation. For one, it was simply rude to interrupt a young woman in the middle of a speech, and to steal her moment from her. For two, he was wrong to think that there was any integrity in the MTV Video Music Awards. For three, Beyonce won in the end anyways, so that made him look Triple Dumb Cereal.
But on the other hand:

Oh wow, speaking of coconuts. Charlie Sheen (Terminal Velocity, Scary Movie 4) recently published a transcript of his 20-minute conversation with President Barack Obama (on a website called Prison Planet, which is how you know it's not going to be completely nuts). As the transcript begins, Charlie Sheen explains that he wanted 30 minutes, but the President's handlers would only allow him 20. Except that Charlie Sheen didn't have any minutes with the President, the whole thing is made up. Which makes the whole wanting 30 minutes but only getting 20 minutes thing particularly crazy because it is make believe. But it turns out that is the least crazy part of this whole crazy thing, because the imagined conversation is mostly about Charlie Sheen's 9/11 conspiracy theories, which is what we in the business call PERFECT. It includes a lot of naturalistic back-and-forth dialog, for example:

Wikipedia Vs. Predator Two men enter...well, not men exactly, one is a fictional alien creature and the other is a randomly-selected entry from an open-sourced reference tool...one "man" leaves.

These two ladies are really going blow for blow these days. "I'm the worst!" "No, I am the worst!" Stop, you're both incredibly awful! Is it possible to have a Mexican stand-off with just two people? Let's try! I heard impossible is nothing, or whatever. Anyway, Gwyneth Paltrow takes back the upper (lower?) hand this week with some remarks she made to People magazine at the Hope Benefit Gala at the Tribeca Rooftop, whatever that means (it is very nice to see someone finally helping Hope out?).
"It's crazy. . . . crazy!" Paltrow chatted exclusively with PEOPLE about the site at the Children of the City's Champions of Hope Benefit Gala at the Tribeca Rooftop last night in N.Y.C. "I just love it. Corporate America is knocking at my door. . . . 'Will you hawk my product'?" The answer is clearly no for the star's very personal project, which even derives its name from her initials G.P. "It started in such an organic way. People ask me, 'What is it? What are you doing?' And I don't know. I did it, am doing it . . . and I love doing it. It is really just a place to disseminate good information," said the Preen-clad Paltrow. "People are so grateful that it's free. It's just nice to share what you have. And I have all this great information. It's just a gift. People want me to do all this other stuff. But right now, I just really love doing the site. I love thinking about the letters, what I'm going to write about, what kind of information we can put in there."
Look, you guys, I've got some real talk for you:

Has anyone else been on the edge of their seat all weekend to see if Stephen would mention Friday's Sarah Palin Twitter slip-up/plan to get Stephen killed by Twitter-reading terrorists on last night's show? If you missed it, Sarah announced to the world that Stephen's upcoming trip to the Persian Gulf would be specifically to Iraq, a fact that has not only not been mentioned by the show, but has been deliberately obfuscated in order to tease it out with false leads and an interactive message board clue game that so far nobody has solved. And Stephen did mention it in the show intro, albeit cheekily, probably because coming out and admitting it would have ruined the "Is Stephen going to...The United Arab Emirates?" segment later in the show. I like to think of it as an inside joke between Stephen Colbert and blog readers, because I would like to think that, wouldn't I?
