There Is Crying In Second Life
On tomorrow night's episode of True Life, the John Norris-narrated documentary series that's one of MTV's only watchable non-Hills shows, three people with dominant online alter-egos share their experiences for True Life: I Live Another Life On The Web. All three are women (!) with varying degrees of social anxiety: one is a Second Life "rock star" and the other two are self-described "sex kittens" online, while in real life they suffer from shyness and agoraphobia.
True Life tends to treat its subjects with a refreshing degree of compassion, and this one, which might more easily lend itself to ridicule than, say, last week's True Life: I Have Schizophrenia is no exception. Though they might be pushing it when the Second Life rock star cries after her performance, saying she "nearly lost it up there."

I remember "True Life: I have Tourettes Syndrome" was both incredibly sad and incredibly hilarious. And the next day at my school, every one was talking about it. Which was weird.
