I've already said MY THING about HIM dancing IN HEAVEN and what not. But.

Agreed. Another star of my childhood gone. R.I.P., Patrick.

rob lowe better watch out, because with both michael jackson and patrick swayze gone, he's the only one of my childhood celebrity crushes left. (at least they outlived river phoenix.) also on notice: keanu reeves and keifer sutherland. wish i'd had a crush on kirk cameron...

Shouldn't this SUMMER OF DEATH have ended after Labor Day? If I'm not allowed to wear seersucker, celebrities shouldn't be allowed to keep dying.

The autumn equinox isn't for another week. Maybe death will throw us a bone and take care of Glenn Beck, or at least Jay Leno.

We all agree Jay sucks, but let's let him live.

I'm willing to accept my downvotes like a man, but I simply have to post this tasteless, yet amusing image.

I am going to go all Cheesegum. Patrick Swayze was in a lot of my favorite movies as an adolescent, and when someone like this dies, it feels like a part of your childhood is lost, in a way. Not only did he leave behind a great career, but he managed to not be "Hollywoody" at all, as well as handled his illness and impending death with much grace. I truly feel for his wife of 34 years (that in itself is most admirable, let's admit it), and his family. Stay Gold, Patrick. Stay gold.

And now for something completely different...

Not to be a total cocksucker, but this whole "Summer of Death" rhetoric needs to stop, and really shouldn't have ever started. Millions and millions of people died this summer, just like every summer (Welcome to College). Referring to this particular summer as such, only because a few celebrities passed at untimely points in their lives, seems, to me, very insensitive and condescending towards the majority of families dealing with their own tragedies. Maybe I'm denying the reality of our media-saturated, celebrity-obsessed culture, but the phrase is, ultimately, juvenile... I mean, come oh'on.

I don't wish to take away the severity of every death that occurred over the last few months, but I really think people should use their brainz before throwing around nonsensical phrases and bringing the attention of others' tragedies to themselves... That said - I'm a sad little panda today and will watch Point Break on repeat, probably all week. May Adrian and Barney now dance upon the heavens for all eternity.

No one here has mentioned "Point Break", so I will... Cult surfer movie, great lines, great scenes yet one of those so overtop that its so bad that its good flicks, I love it and Swayze was great in it ..."Why be a servant to the law, when you can be its master". Worth checking out if you havent seen it
