Heaven Just Got A Little More Stan Winston?

thumbnail icon: Heaven Just Got A Little More Stan Winston?

AICN is reporting that Stan Winston, the special effects wizard behind Jurassic Park, Terminator, and Aliens has died at the age of 62. So far the only confirmation is Wikipedia (which also said that Tim Russert had passed away a half hour before it was reported anywhere, what?), but if it is true this is sad news. He was responsible for some of the most iconic film images of the modern age. Does anyone have confirmation other than a poorly written nerd blog and a group think resource so untrustworthy that it's basically a jokepedia? Google news turns up zero results.

We should all pour out a little liquid Terminator metal in his honor. I think? I don't know. Internet, I'm scared. (Worst obituary ever.)

but were you just hanging out and his wikipedia page, and that's how you found out? do you have some sort of email alert when people's wikipedia pages report them dead? (not in a crass way, because he was awesome, and all i've ever done was nothing)
