That's Your Wedding Proposal: Super Mario World Proposal

Some nerd programmed a secret level on Mario Brothers and had the coins spell out "Will You Marry Me?" for his girlfriend.

Oh, nerds. Always with the being nerds. This is one of those stories they will tell their nerd grandchildren about. Very cute, nerds. Congratulationerds. (Via BuzzFeed.)

Lisa almost missed the proposal because she wanted all those coins! Those nerds are adorable!

Wedding proposals are slowly turning into an arms race. One day there's a guy doing it in coins over Super Mario, the next there'll be one spelling it out in Alphabetti Spaghetti.
Where will the madness end?!

She was terrible at Mario. You see her completely ignore that dragon coin? I mean five of those and that's an extra man. What are you Joe Rockefeller with plenty of extra lives to throw around? This is a recession and extra lives are scarce.

Aaw, it is kinda cute though! He had to make her play the game and all... Or maybe he waited for months until she finally played the game...

I think this was probably set up for the camera. If I was her, Id be attacking those "will" coins right away, and wouldnt even notice til I got to the thing that looked like a question mark.
Also, this is 200x cuter/better than the disneyland douche.

My marriage proposal using Super Mario World looked just like that, except I made it so the walls of the underground would close in from both sides, and there was no exit, and Mario had no choice but to die after getting all of the coins.
She didn't say yes.

After her son cries on the way to the altar and his pants get mysteriously wet. The ironic thing is that later on that dog peed everywhere and no one said a word.

Am I the only one who thought the response was extremely insincere? It sounded more like she was being offered a sandwich than a life of bliss and nerdship.

The best part about this proposal is that it's fool proof. If she was bad at Mario and couldn't get that far in the level, would you really want to marry her?

Spelling it out with rupees in Legend Of Zelda would have been so much nerdier.

Yeah and after collecting all the rupees a chest appears and the treasure sound plays with some kind of Zelda ring inside. And for synergy you take out your own real life ring and sing along. Da da da daaaaaaaaa! How can anyone say no to that?

I hate when nerds call themselves nerds. 1. I have no way to make fun of them. 2. It makes me feel bad that some people can admit it.
