Perez Hilton Is Angry

thumbnail icon: Perez Hilton Is Angry

A very stupid young lady by the name of Miss California ruffled judge Perez Hilton's feathers at the Miss USA Pageant this weekend with her nonsensical answer to a question about gay marriage (as opposed to "opposite marriage.") Seeing Perez's face fall when the contestant explains that where she comes from, they want to deny basic rights to others, "no offense," is a confusing experience. Perez then took to YouTube to make his feelings known.

"No offense", LOL:

Here's Perez's response, which, while technically representing the correct view, isn't any smarter:

I love it when morons get into intense philosophical arguments. These two should have their own Hannity And Colmes-type show.

I tuned in only for this part of the show and laughed harder at their answers than I was laughing at the new FOX cartoon, "Sit Down Shut Up."

Essentially, none of these girls even answered the questions they were asked. When asked if the US should have universal health care, one contestant kept saying it was an issue of integrity, whether you fell on the left, the right or the middle, it was a simple issue of integrity, thank you. And then she stood back in line. The end. Great answer, Miss Arizona!

Those are two different kinds of answers. Miss South Carolina was just an idiot that had no idea of what was going on.

This chick is an cognizant of what's going on but she's too much of an idiot that she can't even intellecutalize her completley WRONG point of view in a way that doesn't show what mouth-breathers NOM-type people are.

i think it is pretty bullshit for this question to even be asked at all... while i am an advocate for gay marriage i really dont think this is a proper topic for this contest... one contestant got asked what they thought of the rihanna situation and that is a pretty straight forward easy to answer issue, gay marriage is far from agreed upon and perez hilton shouldnt of even been allowed to ask such a question imo... they might as well just asked her what her opinion is on abortion...

Alright people, let's have a little common sense here. Why in the world is a person being judged on their opinion of an especially delicate social issue, whatever it may be? Truth be told, the concept of "gay marriage" makes just about as much sense as "clean coal" or "dry water". Marriage is the joining of one man and one woman together for a lifetime. At least that is what the majority of people who get married agree to when they take their vows. These concepts are all grounded on a basic concept of morality that is inherent in us all. Now we are lying to ourselves and turning that sense of morality on it's head. You want to play the "born with it" card? What if a person is born with a tendancy to steal? Why do we incarcerate that person, but tell another who seeks a same-sex lifestyle that it is OK? They are both fundamentally wrong, proven in basic morality, and also in anatomy. Just like gay advocates can have their own opinion, so can hetero advocates. I don't hate you, I just feel different about a concept than you do. This constant debate erodes the very meaning of the word "truth". Gay marriage is a lie. If we accept that lie as a society, we demolish our integrity and question truth in every other aspect of life.

Time to fire up the Telestrator and break it down:
Why in the world is a person being judged on their opinion of an especially delicate social issue, whatever it may be? A solid start.

Truth be told, the concept of "gay marriage" makes just about as much sense as "clean coal" or "dry water". And we're off the rails already. This is made of fail. Clean Coal is currently only theoretically possible, dry water is not, and gay marriage has and continues to happen every day.

Marriage is the joining of one man and one woman together for a lifetime. At least that is what the majority of people who get married agree to when they take their vows. And when people talk about "pulling a train", the majority of people agree that you're talking about a locomotive. That doesn't mean your Mom ceases to exist.

These concepts are all grounded on a basic concept of morality that is inherent in us all. The classic "Everyone should believe what I believe because I believe it" angle. How is high school treating you these days? Have your pubes grown in yet? "Inherent morality" just means "what my mama told me".

What if a person is born with a tendancy to steal? Why do we incarcerate that person, but tell another who seeks a same-sex lifestyle that it is OK? You are conflating concepts of property rights with issues of consent. If you give somebody consent to take your car, it isn't illegal.

They are both fundamentally wrong, proven in basic morality, and also in anatomy. Fail. Not all gay men have teh butts3X, and not all people who go to browntown are gay. And you're ignoring lesbians completely.

Just like gay advocates can have their own opinion, so can hetero advocates. Very true. And if gay advocates use reasoning this hilariously bad, they also need to get pimp-slapped.

Gay marriage is a lie. If we accept that lie as a society, we demolish our integrity and question truth in every other aspect of life. Tell your Pastor I said "Hi", and make sure he isn't left alone with young boys anymore.

Ok. So outside of the whole "can gay people love?" argument or the "marriage = penis + vagina" retort; I have to disagree with this statement on the grounds that no one is actually going to start "question truth" in anything. Ever. Because its too hard. Because no one really knows what that means. Because its just some gibberish you just made up.

Some gay couples now have to go though a lengthy/expensive process just to break up in California. No one is out there "questioning truth". Every single non-action/comedy movie made in the past 5 years features adultry as a sexy, romantic, totally ok thing to do. Right? I mean thats the sancity of marriage for you. Movies romanticize cheating on your spouse and its totally cool. Some gay chics/dudes throw a really expensive/boring party that requires people to bring them presents and all of a sudden marraige is dead! Up is down! Left is right! OMG!

You are so wrong and so many issues, I'll just focus on one that drives me absolutely crazy. You are essentially using the Rick Warren "just because you were born this way doesn't mean its what God's wants you to be" argument. This argument makes no sense from a RELIGIOUS perspective. For one, if homosexuals are born that means God wants them that way. If God didn't want homosexuals, he wouldn't make homosexuals. God's not an idiot. In that case, if you are a believer, it's time to look through the Biblical translations because someone fucked up somewhere (and any Biblical scholar with half a brain will tell that the Bible is a lot more vague on homosexuality than modern translations and modern preachers want you to believe). If you want to claim hatred in the name of God, at least do some research and not just spit some bullshit you took in for 10 minutes half asleep on some random Sunday morning.

Secondly, and here's a piece of irony that makes me want to (no offense!) punch you in the face: You see my "God makes you how he wants you" argument up there? Do you recognize it? You should. It's the exact same argument Christian fundamentalists (and probably YOU) use to condemn transgenders. The idea is, you can't have a sex change because if God wanted you to be a woman, he'd have made you a woman (and vice versa). That's YOUR argument. So either start accepting the gays or start accepting transgenders, you can't have both (Of course that's a trick question, because the Christian right never lets religious doctrine get in the way of hatred). Either way, even your own belief system tells you you are a moron. Congratulations.

Um yeah, Pablo? Please do not insult someone else for not knowing what they're talking about when you, yourself, have no idea what you are talking about. You said, "No one is taking away gays rights in this issue. Its a right gays don't have that they are trying to get." I believe that Alex was referring to the Prop 8 vote in California which did, in fact, take away a gay person's right to get married.
Now here, I could be snarky and use your own words to tell you that "You shouldn't be allowed to either vote or voice an opinion on the subject if you can't get a clue," but what am I? An asshole? No, instead I'll just ask you to think before you speak. It really doesn't take long, and it will keep you from getting quite so many negative scores on your comments. I'm late to the game, but I think if this question had to be asked at all, it should have been about how she handles diplomacy and making her opinion on the matter--whatever that opinion is--sound intelligent and/or thoughtful. Like many people here, I'm don't find her stance as objectionable as how she conveyed it. She fails for sounding like a dumb fundie, Perez fails for being The Worst. They both could have done better in my opinion.

I don't have a problem with Perez making a vlog in response. I think a lot of people would expect him to respond. If you look at what he does for a living, would you honestly expect him not to respond? I also don't have a problem with this question being asked in the competition. It is a highly discussed topic. I think that people should be able to respond intelligently with their informed opinion on a current event.

Why would he even ask this question at the pagent? I mean seriously? The whole point of the interview portion of the pagent is to ask questions where there are no wrong answers and judge the contestants abilites to articulate. While I don't really see how gay people being gay and filing their taxes together really affects me, I have to say that this was a completely loaded and unfair question.

All I see here is an attention whore setting himself up to be "victimized" by someone's opinion that he asked for. Its not like he said "How would you end world hunger?" and she said "I would give everyone two bunnies...........JESUS HATES GAYS!" No. He said "Do you agree my lifestyle?" and she said "Ummmm...not really?" and then he said "LOOKATME!LOOKATME!LOOKATME!EVERYONELOOKATME!!!"

"Can we lobby for some sort of comment removal system"

Or at least a mechanism to limit the number of comments on any given post from the same IP address. I'd bet most of the really hateful comments, specifically about Perez Hilton, are coming from the same computer, with different user names. Or simply ban IP addresses from which the most egregiously fucked up comments come.
