Nicole Kidman's Schweppes Commercial: What Did You Expect?

Schweppes bought Nicole Kidman and the little girl from Slumdog Millionaire for a weird new commercial for their soft drinks, and I can't put my finger on it, but it makes me feel uncomfortable:

Why did she start to take her dress off and then run to the soft drinks and the little girl? Why is the little girl looking at her all admiringly like "Pretty white lady!" Actually, not to be too mean about Nicole's injectables but maybe she's thinking "Cool, an alien!"

Some clever Indian dudes are totally seeing the nuanced humor in this.

Nicole bought that girl straight cash so she can do whatever she wants to her.

She makes an "ahhh" sound before she even swallows that jizzpop.

The little girl was probably all "OMG you were married to Tom Cruise! WTF?"

Jeez, isn't it obvious! Nicole unzipped her dress so she wouldn't feel uncomfortable when that carbonated beverage starts to make her feel bloated. Also, she's a big tease.

Hmm... I was going to go the opposite direction. This reeks of Baz Luhrmann to me.

As an ad for Schweppes, it works. Schweppes is only good as a mixer, and watching that did make me want to drink. Heavily.

Man, she's got that 'vacant stare' thing down, doesn't she? I've always found that more than a bit off-putting.

Can someone just give that poor kid a chance at a real, decent life outside of the entertainment industry? Nicole is completely ridiculous and must be desperate for $ or attention. Please try to focus as a mother to a real little girl Nicole on what you are portraying for the masses. Is she not glamorizing alcohol to children?! Children and alcohol do not mix.

Very stupid ad! Who ever came up with the creative concept obviously didn't understand the market or the product. It doesn't even make sense. On the other hand it make people talk about how stupid it is - maybe it could work on some levels but I don't think it's smart enough to make a great difference.
