13 Years Ago, The State Made A Gameboy Commercial

David Wain put this up on his blog yesterday: apparently 13 years ago, he and State members Kerri Kenney, Ben Garant, Michael Showalter, and Michael Ian Black made a commercial for the then-new Game Boy Pocket. I feel like if I saw this now I would recognize their voices, but probably not:

I wonder whose butt that is at the end? (Via CC Insider.)

I don't want to brag, but the Red Head Gay went to my high school. Yeah, that's right. I don't even know his actual name. Suck on THAT internerds.

His name is Kevin Allison.

But okay, I'm about to sound like a douche, but a few hours before he blogged this, I asked about it on The State's facebook page. Not that I found the missing link or anything special, I just feel good about it. Like somehow David Wain has noticed my existence, and therefore will cast me in his next project *fingers crossed*

I remember this commercial! My oldest fuckin whined forever about getting one. Then he got the see-through one. Damn transparent electronics were big in the 90s huh? What with all the CRAZY FLASHING lights knocking little kids dicks into the dirt.

Okay, enough with the gratuitous swearing, do you really have to throw out the f-word when talking about one of your kids for no reason? It's like you're trying to be the worst. Oh wait.

They should bring Stella back, that show was too funny.

Agreed. At least Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter are making a new show. (Michael & Michael Have Issues.) Seems pretty good so far from the pictures and video they posted.

Is it just me, or does it seem like those commercials for "male enhancement" are just a blatant ripoff of this?

I wish "The State" and "Mr. Show" cast members would combine to become one megapower of comedy. The casts of both shows are responsible for everything I've laughed at sincerely in the last 15 years. Michael Ian Black with David Cross? Yes, please.

I'm glad that Gameboy was the most sexually suggestive hand held pleasure provider of the 1990s.

Oh wow - I clearly remember this commercial. Now that the voices are all so familiar, this makes my head explode a little bit.
