Surely There Is An Even Worse Crank 2 Tagline

LOL. Lots Of Love. OK. That is not a very good tagline. Especially for a movie that pretends like it's about to excitetrocute your brain with funtricity. But surely they could have come up with an even worse Crank 2 tagline. HMM, THAT GIVES ME AN IDEA FOR A BLOG POST!

A List of Worse Potential Taglines for Crank 2:

  • Welcome To ACTION TOWN!
  • He...Jason Statham...There Is...Something About His Heart Or Something
  • Picking Up A Little While After The Last Movie Left Off
  • He Chase The Bad Men What Gave Him A Robot's Heart
  • Oh Yes, There Will Be A Tongue Hooked Up To A Car Battery
  • Retarded Speed...2!

There's no unimproving on imperfection. (Image via WoosterCollective.)

Citizen Marketing: Marly & Me

thumbnail: Citizen Marketing: Marly & Me

Citizen Marketing is where we catalog our favorite baby-Banksy agit-prop defacements of public advertising campaigns. Please send your own Citizen Marketing to tips@videogum.com. THE REVOLUTION WILL BE TUMBLR'D!

You know, sometimes it turns out that the best way to deface a poster ISN'T to draw a mustache and some penises on it. Well, that doesn't seem accurate. The best way to deface a poster is ALWAYS to draw a mustache and some penises on it. But if you ever find yourself defacing a poster and not being a 12-year-old boy, then it's possible you'll turn to the other poster-defacing classic: the SPOILER.

I hate SPOILERS, but I don't hate this. Poster trolls only seem to spoil terrible movies, so who cares. The best part is imagining some hooligan with permanent marker all over his fingers, sitting in the back of Marley & Me with his hoodie hood pulled up over his head, manically shaking his leg, trying to brainstorm ideas for his next explosive tag. That's how it works. Whoever wrote this is in a gang. I didn't make the rules.

Haha. True. That's just true. When the global pandemic of blindness, which is also a metaphor for our collective need to heighten our sense of humanity in the face of violence, creates worldwide anarchy, you will not see my foot coming up your ass.

Whoops! Nobel Prize-winning novelist José Saramago just killed himself in order to be better able to roll in his grave.

This is easily my favorite Citizen Marketing thus far, because it's true. BBQ is yummy! I guess ancient sand demons have a different concept of what BBQ is about, because personally I like mine with sauce and without smiles, but that's one of the great things about this food. It brings generations together (the Mummy is your great-great-boyfriend). It's what summer's all about, just eating and laughing and cursing the doomed.

Citizen Marketing: Hancock

(via Film Drunk)

This is Citizen Marketing at its best. You just get in there with your exacto knife, fuck up a famous face, switch a couple of letters around, and you're barely even late to the unemployment office (people who do this do not have jobs). I like that this person saw the promotions for Hancock and was just like 'BORING, WE'VE ALREADY SEEN THIS, IT WAS CALLED HITCH," and his friend was like "But Hancock is a superhero, they're actually really different" and he was like, "My point is still valid and worthy of the hour it will take to complete this project."

Citizen Marketing: Get Smart

Citizen Marketing is where we catalog our favorite baby-Banksy agit-prop defacements of public advertising campaigns. Please send your own Citizen Marketing to tips@videogum.com. THE REVOLUTION WILL BE TUMBLR'D!

(via copyranter)

Someone saw this poster and just said "You know what, it's time to open people's eyes. No more of this passive consumerism. I will do for American moviegoers what Karl Marx's Das Kapital did for the Russian peasantry. Everyone will come to see God's true purpose for them on this Earth. Viewers of the world unite, you have nothing to lose but your inability to make wise choices at the box office." That's what he said. Then he just made the poster say "Wet Fart" and stuck a pair of scissors in Anne Hathaway's eye. But the intention was really really powerful.

Citizen Marketing: The Happening

(via copyranter)

We haven't received any Citizen Marketing in a few weeks, so when one finally arrives in the tips box, it's nice to see that it's just a straight up classic. No funny business or creativity here, just gittin 'er done. If there were faces on this piece of shit poster, I'm sure those faces would have moustaches on their upper lips, and cocks in their mouths. I'm sure because I would have drawn them.

Citizen Marketing: Deion & Pilar

Citizen Marketing is where we catalogue our favorite baby-Banksy agit-prop defacements of public advertising campaigns. Please send your own Citizen Marketing to tips@videogum.com. THE REVOLUTION WILL BE TUMBLR'D!

(thanks to Gabe for the tip!)

Ah, the classic cut out the one face to reveal another face beneath. Citizen Marketing 101. Who is that? Andre Agassi? And what is Deion & Pilar? It looks like Run's House but with Deion Sanders. Is it Run's House but with Deion Sanders? Because I don't know very many things, but I know that the world doesn't even need the Run's House that it has, much less some tertiary market Oxygen version with a silk-besuited ego and a female Andre Agassi.

Oh, I just looked. The answer is yes. Yes it is. Call your local cable company and inquire about UNSUBSCRIBing from Oxygen today.
