Scientology Is A Religion For Children

Nancy Cartwright, who does the voice of Bart Simpson (and also Ralph Wiggum?! The world is changed, I feel it in the water), has been making robocalls on behalf of the Church of Scientology using Bart's voice to promote an upcoming event. Um, what?

First of all, THAT IS AMAZING. Second of all, SHE'S GOING TO GET SUED BY FOX FOR COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT. But third and most importantly of all, WHO WOULD FIND BART SIMPSON A COMPELLING AND CONVINCING SPOKESPERSON FOR ANYTHING? "You know, I've always been pretty skeptical of this whole Scientology thing. An alien who lives in a mountain? That just seemed like crazy talk to me. But then I got a call from Bart Simpson, and I figure I should at least give this thing a chance. BECAUSE I AM 13 YEARS OLD." Cowa-HUH?-nga dude!

The last time Bart Simpson was successfully used as a marketing tool for me was when I bought a Bart Simpson t-shirt in Junior High School. In that sense he was very, very effective. A+++++. Would buy from seller again!

Are you trying to suggest that Bart was not an effective spokesman for Butterfinger?

I really didn't think it could get worse than "sarcastress." But then it did, TWICE. You rock my universe, G.

Oh man someone beat me to the Butterfingers.
And I'm pretty disappointed to learn that the voice of Bart Simpson is also a crazy.

I remember seeing Simpson's writer Mike Reiss talk at Harvard and he mentioned how the one thing they can never make fun of is Scientology, because Nancy Cartwright is big into it.

Wait what is FOX going to do? They can't get rid of her, they can't piss her off to the point she quits the show. They can ask her to knock it off, but if they want to keep the showing going for another 30 years, she's got those dudes by the thetans.

why did we think that it was cool to own clothing with the simpsons on it in middle school?
oh right, because we were dressing ourselves according to the tastes of 11 year-olds even more retarded than us.
