MTV And/Or Murderer Puts Out Casting Call For New York's Fame Whores

thumbnail icon: MTV And/Or Murderer Puts Out Casting Call For New York's Fame Whores

This craigslist posting is all kinds of sad:

We are a well know casting company working on several new shows for MTV - these are shows that will be taping in 2009. Have you always wanted to be on MTV - but never had the chance to audition - or the auditions were taking place in a different part of the country etc...? Well if you LIVE in the NY/NJ/CT areas around New York City and are in the age range of 18 - 24 we would love to meet you. We are looking for ladies and guys who are adventurous - know how to have fun - and would love the chance to be on MTV on one of the cool shows we are casting for in 2009. Various casting times at our office in Manhattan OR we will be holding various casting calls in November and December that might be taking place near you - so check in with us!

Email us at: MTV2009Casting@gmail.com

Um, several new shows LIKE WHAT? New shows. That could be anything. The fact that the vagueness of this listing won't keep them from getting hundreds of applicants desperate to be on television regardless of the what, when, or how is Bummer City. I also like how they make it seem like holding auditions in New York is an exciting rarity, like Barbazon Modeling Agency setting up a booth at the local Grand River Falls Sheraton off Exit 90A. Whoa, auditioning in New York? How metropolitan!

Also, MTV2009Casting@gmail.com? Yeah, no, a major casting agency working on behalf of a cable network owned by Viacom totally uses free email addresses. That email totally goes directly to the VP of Casting and not to Jigsaw's murder sex dungeon. I know it sounds weird that they want you to bring your own chain-harness and bucket to the audition, but it's actually pretty typical in the industry. You're going to be famous!

"or the auditions were taking place in a different part of the country etc...? Well if you LIVE in the NY/NJ/CT areas around New York City...."

Seriously? Isn't NYC the FIRST place all these shows go to?
