The Unfortunate Timing Of Robin Williams' World's Greatest Dad Movie News

thumbnail icon: The Unfortunate Timing Of Robin Williams' World's Greatest Dad Movie News

Last night, Variety had some news about Robin Williams' new movie:

Robin Williams has signed on to star in the dark comedy "World's Greatest Dad" for Darko Entertainment.

Bobcat Goldthwait wrote the screenplay and will direct.

Story centers on a single dad and high school teacher who finds his son dead after an apparent autoerotic accident. In an effort to give his son dignity in death, he pens a suicide note that is accidentally leaked to the student paper.

Today, MSNBC has this report via The Associated Press:

NOVI, Mich. - A 33-year-old Michigan man is accused of wearing a "World's Greatest Dad" shirt to a meeting for sex with what he thought was a 14-year-old girl.

Wait..."undated image"? Wasn't Bobcat Goldthwait's last movie a romantic comedy about bestiality? Viral marketing!

I like Dark Comedies, but I hate Robin Williams comedies. So this news is mixed for me.
