Eddie Murphy Is Not Going To Be The Riddler In Batman 3

thumbnail icon: Eddie Murphy Is Not Going To Be The Riddler In Batman 3

The UK's The Sun is reporting that Eddie Murphy will be playing the Riddler in the next Batman movie. Sure, UK's The Sun. Pink Is the New Blog points out that this startling casting decision isn't being reported anywhere else, but he felt it was worth reposting just in case it turned out to be true. Um, no, Pink Is the New Blog, it's worth reposting because it's hilarious. Eddie Murphy's Riddler isn't the only scoop The Sun scooped, they've got even more great casting news:

Execs have also signed up rising Transformers star SHIA LABEOUF, 22, to play Robin.

Meanwhile, Brit RACHEL WEISZ is said to be up for the Catwoman role.

Hahaha. This is fun! I didn't know you could just make stuff up and then you got to own your own newspaper. Great!

The full cast of Christopher Nolan's currently untitled Batman project after the jump.

UNTITLED BATMAN PROJECT

Siiiiick. I think you can buy tickets for opening night on Fandago already. You just have to do a search for "I Like Batman!" That's what the lead article on the frontpage of The Gabe Times says, at least.

It was really nice of Christopher Nolan to give an exclusive casting interview to a British tabloid. What a friendly guy!

Eartha Kitt has never stopped being Catwoman. Seriously. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzd6oCP3FKk

You're welcome.

Morgan Freeman would act the hell out of the penguin!

But Morgan Freeman was already Lucius Fox...

I could see Freddy Highmore as Robin actually. He's young enough and has the acting chops. Shia is too old.

Knowing how the TMZ news room is run, I have no idea how much worse one can get in order to continually produce these rumors. Is there really a high demand to know who's playing what in a story for a movie that has yet to exist?

I think the British just ruin things like this for me.

I hear Chris Nolan is also ditching Wally Pfister, because he would prefer the opinion of Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, too!

I knew it was BS when The Sun claimed that "RACHEL WEISZ is said to be up for the Catwoman role." There is no way she could beat Cher out for that part.

Pssssshhh... So fake. Everyone knows they are just going to recast Halle Berry as Catwoman.

The fact that the Sun made something up is not news.
