As If Celebracadabra Wasn't Scary Enough

thumbnail icon: As If Celebracadabra Wasn't Scary Enough

There is a new show coming out on VH1 that I think you'd be really great in, ladies. From the Hollywood Reporter:

VH1 is looking for actresses who aren't afraid to scream.

The cable network has greenlighted "Scream Queens," a series from Lionsgate that will gather 10 unknown actresses to compete for a "major" role in a horror movie from Lionsgate Films. The contestants will compete in challenges and be schooled by acting coach John Homa. Their skills and progress will be judged by an unnamed director from Lionsgate's roster.

"Horror films have dominated the pop culture landscape for decades and along the way have produced some of the biggest names in Hollywood," said Jeff Olde, VH1's executive vp original programming and production.

I'm not really sure who "the biggest names in Hollywood" are that have come out of recent horror movies. Unless you're talking about Skeet Ulrich, but he's so famous and successful that I don't even think you can compare him to other actors. With Skeet Ulrich it's like, who's more important Skeet Ulrich or the Queen of England and then it's like, I don't know, it's impossible to tell, they're both so famous and powerful and beloved.

Mostly I'm just excited for what the weekly challenges are going to be.

  • The girls are split up into teams and have to sell lemonade in Times Square using only blood-curdling screams.
  • The girls must create a formal evening gown made out of pigs' blood and human hair.
  • The girls have 14 hours to cater a wedding with a budget of cobwebs and scary sound effects records.
  • The girls parents come to the mansion to meet Bret Michaels, but only one of them will be allowed to leave.
  • Special guest judge Jigsaw challenges the girls to teach each other the true value of life with nothing but their imaginations, and 250 dollars worth of surgical supplies.

I don't know if you guys see what I did there, but I rehashed a bunch of challenges from other reality shows, and I changed the wording slightly to make them spooky. Just like how Hollywood does it. Please send my residuals check to gabe@millionairegum.com
