It's Not ALWAYS Sunny In Philadelphia The original Sweet Dee talks about developing the show and then getting fired. Which is interesting, and the good news is she seems to be doing pretty well now. But it's funny when she pretends like this is advice. You know, for when you are the original Sweet Dee.

Why is it people correcting spelling and grammar always spell something wrong?

The part that made me most uncomfortable about reading this (and a lot of it made me uncomfortable) was the way that Glenn, Rob and Charlie getting picked up for the show while she wasn't echoed the whole "Sweet Dee is the only member of the gang who is not part owner of the bar" storyline of the series. That aspect of the plot always seemed completely arbitrary and weird to me, especially since the gender power struggle of the gang is present in so many other obvious ways, but with this backstory it's especially unfortunate. Yuck, gang.

I felt pretty uncomfortable reading it as well. I remember watching or reading some interview with Kaitlin Olson a few years ago, and she said that Sweet Dee's role was originally just to stand around and disapprove of the guys' shenanigans, which if you look at the first season is really true for the most part. Eventually she lobbied for better storylines. I wonder why the character was written that way originally - obviously Sweet Dee has come a long way since then. Did the guys just think they wouldn't be able to write for a woman, or that a woman wouldn't realistically want to be involved in their pranks? I really do love this show and I think it's one of the best comedies on television right now, but reading this kind of thing makes me uneasy.

I spent too much time looking at her terrorsite and I was lulled into a comatose state in which I couldn't see the future or get past thoughts of refurbishing thrift store lamps and making pasta dishes with unnecessarily expensive cheeses... then I fell asleep and dreamed that I got married to my boyfriend... all of which was just a fucking nightmare. I hate this woman.

I think Kaitlin Olsen is the FUNNIEST, and she really holds her own against the boys club that is Sunny. But I have always been disappointed in the machismo of that show. I mean, all the chicks in the show are named "Sweet Dee" "the waitress" and "Charlie's Mom" etc. The only female with a name is plus sized (Artemis) who is hilarious. But it almost seems like she is a non-girl cause she is a plus sized girl. Maybe I'm just oversensitive, this isn't equalrightsgum, and comedy has always been a boy's club.

This is all fine and dandy, but I wasnt there and I do not know these people so I wont be making any judgments against this woman or anyone else on the show.

Do you think Rob calls her 'Sweet Dee' when they're being intimate?

At the end of her blog she says she's proud in retrospect that she "refused to compromise her values for a role on a TV show." But I read the article, re-skimmed it looking for answers, but for the lie of me can't figure out where in the series of events did her values get challenged?
She never wrote anything along the lines of, "and then FX was all like, 'You just be a dumb girl! That's you role!' And I was all like, 'NO! I am smart!' And I stood up to them and I am proud that I did because now I own a puppy."

I think she says that the guys told her that if she discontinued her relationship with Rob, she would be fired. So maybe she is referring to her choice to leave a life of sexual slavery for a role on IASIP.

Rob McElhenney married Kaitlin Olsen a couple years ago. It seems like Mac really has a thing for the Sweet Dees.

It's too bad she's not on the show. It could have provided for some really crazy on-set chemistry explosions. I think her article was thoughtful and she made sure not to paint anyone as a monster. It must be really difficult for her not to be bitter, as the show is popular, those people are indeed getting rich and they lied to her. Why hate on her? Fame ruins everything (I'm guessing).

What if this whole thing is viral marketing, and she's going to be a character on next week's show who claims to be part owner of Paddy's and demands a share of the profits?

It's a bit of a stretch, cause everyone knows Paddy's is not profitable.

Everything DOES happen for a reason because Kaitlin Olson is the FUNNYBEST! First of all, the show is supposed to be misogynistic, because it's about assholes, and who's a bigger asshole than a misogynist? Secondly, the chick is acting like she got pushed out because she's a girl, but she wouldn't have been involved at all if she wasn't banging Mac in the first place, so it just makes sense that when she stopped banging Mac, she would be kicked off the show. Also, I love how she just started banging Mac again because she didn't know anyone in L.A. Boo hoo! Make some friends! Don't bang your exes cuz you're lonely!
