Steven Spielberg And George Lucas Are Boring Old Men

There are a bunch of behind-the-scenes clips from Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull traveling along the information coal mine track today, and while I maintain that this movie looks boring and annoying, this behind-the-scenes footage is actually really interesting (in a Camus kind of way, i.e. not actually that interesting).

This footage is soooo weird! It's so quiet and detached from any kind of reality. It's like Steven Spielberg and George Lucas are unwittingly starring in their own version of the Truman Show, where all these people are just extras hired to make believe that the two silly men in their sad hats aren't collapsing under the weight of their own mythology. Driving around in that old car like they don't have a care in the world. Who do they think they are, Jay Leno? Side note: If you follow that link it will take you to a website I just discovered called Jay Leno's Garage. We should probably all kill ourselves.

The footage of Harrison Ford swinging the whip slowly and cautiously is priceless. "Careful. Careful. Slower. Careful. Live whip, here, everybody. Stand back. Careful. Slower." More mournful BTS footage here.

Is it bad that that clip made me feel bad for Shia?
