Our Thoughts And Prayers Are With Bear Gryll's Family/Flock/Pride/Murder/Whatever

thumbnail icon: Our Thoughts And Prayers Are With Bear Gryll's Family/Flock/Pride/Murder/Whatever

Oh noes! Bear Grylls has been injured. From the AP:

Discovery Channel says Bear Grylls, rugged adventurer and star of its popular "Man vs. Wild" series, has been injured during an expedition in Antarctica.

A fall resulted in a shoulder injury to Grylls, who is en route back home to Britain for medical treatment and assessment of the injury's severity, according to Discovery.

According to Buzzfeed, "He spent 36 hours 'in agony' at basecamp waiting for high winds to subside before he could be airlifted out." That is so many hours in agony! I was going to title this post "Wild Vs. Man," or maybe "Wild: 1, Bear Grylls: 0" but then I remembered that I don't work for the New York Post. Besides, shouldn't that read "Wild: 1, Bear Grylls: 1,918." He has beaten Wild so many times it's sick.

A few of Bear's victories over Wild after the jump.

IN YOUR FACE, WILD. Enjoy this brief moment of rest before Bear returns to Vs. the shit out of you.

Bear Grylls is a gibbering pussy compared to (Survivorman) Les Stroud.

Stroud doesn't have a camera crew, and doesn't stay in hotels when he thinks nobody's looking.

Now now Children. I think we can all agree that both these men kick Wild's ass, in their own way. Sure, Bear also Vs. Hotels sometimes, but he is mainly Vs. the Wild. They are BOTH American heroes (both are proudly American, at least in my head).

Some of the stuff on Man vs. Wild may be done for the benefit of the camera, but he's still risking his life. I'd like to see some of the people calling him a fake do that s*it and live to tell about it. I love his show and his personality makes it more enjoyable, something Les Stroud lacks. Hope Bear gets better quick.

Les Stroud is the one and only Survivorman - what Bear does is pansy stuff compared to him. Look it up online, Bear was caught shaking up in a hotel during one of his "adventures".

Real reason for Bear's injury? He got into a tussle with a yeti over a seal corpse.

But Bear Grylles is so much hotter than Les Stroud!
Plus he once ate a raw zebra corpse! THAT is pretty tough, I'm sure all the bacteria and parasites he has gotten over the years is enough to prove he is The Best.

Bear ate an INNOCENT TURTLE on the everglades episode and I will never ever watch that shit again. He stabbed it in the face. Jackass.

You must've missed part of the episode. That turtle was clearly guilty.

John Hamilton...Les Stroud....really? I like him but he WHINES and WHINES. He is always over dramatizing how dangerous situations are. I always feel embarrassed for him. Les Stroud is ok, but he is a big baby when conditions are less than ideal.

@JK

Maybe he is whining because at the end of the day he sleeps in a fucking handmade shelter, instead of truckin' on down to the local HoJo like Bear "Incredible, Massive Pussy" Grylls.

Guys, we really shouldn't be encouraging people who drink their own urine.

Like okay, great tv or whatever. But let's look at reality. This is a man that drinks his own urine. And we are debating how bad ass he is. Do you know who else drinks urine, guys? A lot of people in psych wards. Bear Gryll needs to sit this one out.

The coolest Man alive.!. read at his blog he's recovering. that's a relief. There are hardly any celebrity I write to but he makes things so inspiring and thrilling that you feel the urge to write to him. It takes balls to do most of the stuff he do, so what if its camera friendly and brings in TRP's, he not doing any charity, He's doing what he's good at and what's he's best at...for chickens whose are crying over him being an actor more than an adventurer, well, u can keep crying and whining. He ain't stopping.
Great going grylls.

Wow....such clatter children......turn the TV off if things bother you this much, with a heading for the article "our thoughts and prayers are with you" , then words like pussy and pansy describing this person.....stuck in the 40's are you?....perhaps you should join a movie rental club, or maybe, yeah....learn rock climbing on ice so we can see how you do, I'm sure its going to be great....can't wait.
