The Middle East's Version Of The View

Ugh. As if the world needed any more examples of a culture trapped on the wrong side of history, doing everything that it could to bring the rest of us back with it. The most unbearable part is that guy's George-Clooney-talking-to-David-Letterman-calm as he explains that of course you don't beat women in the face. Would you beat an animal in the face? EVEN IF YOU WANTED IT TO WALK FASTER? No. So it just follows logically. Not the face. The face is to be covered in a veil and permanently hidden from sight, not beaten. The worst.

Well, I for one am glad to finally have some guidelines when it comes to beating women.

I now know how to convey to my woman that it has gone too far, and I can not bear it anymore.

I must confess, though, I have been beating my camels and donkeys in the face when I want them to start walking. I did not realize I was not allowed to do so.

All in all, this was an enlightening and informative show.

Yeah I'm with Becca... I hope, and sort of fear, that this is a humor product that our recently rekindled fear of people with that accent is taking a little too sincerely... Well, I'm not afraid that it's not for real, I'm afraid that it's so convincing that its negative potential might overwhelm its comic value. Does that make sense?

i like the way he just casually refers to the way you would beat a child, with the slapping back and forth, as a self-evident piece of information.
and how it's most important to not leave a mark, as if any abuser with a commitment to live to abuse another day doesn't know that shit already. sillies.
go fundamentalist islam!
stay classy!
